The Hannibal Lecter Trilogy Blu Ray Set (Region Free) (2011)

After reading many reviews I was unsure what came in this set and if they would work in the United States. All 3 films, Red Dragon, The Silence of the Lambs, and Hannibal are presented in 1080p and don't appear to be bootlegged in any way. I watched all 3 on my ps4 and had no issue. The only difference I've noticed is the cases. They are as thick as a standard dvd case, but are still short like a standard blu ray in the U.S. In addition the case and blu ray disc are marked with the U.K. rating as apposed to our standard PG13 and R. I always wanted to get these 3 on blu ray and am quite happy this set.

Saw a lot of concerns in other reviews that these would be cheap or not work properly. The Blu Ray discs I received were in three sturdy blue plastic cases which all fit together into a nice cardboard sleeve. The picture/sound quality and functionality of the discs are exactly what you would expect from any Blu Ray product. They worked just fine even though my Blu Ray player is at least 10 years old, maybe more, I can't even remember how long I've had it, but these discs played perfectly.

YES, YES, YES ~I like so many fans was rather upset that we received a Hannibal Lecter triology in the USA without Red Dragon. However this set is what should have been released in the USA. Rest at ease all three of these movies will and I repeat will play on any USA manufactured Blu-Ray player. All three films look great especially Silence of the Lambs which finally, finally looks the way it was intended to. Personally I prefer the remark of Man hunter w/ Hopkins (even with his black hair dye funny lol) to the original movie Man hunter. Great set, great price buy it here while they last because you will not find this on a lot of other sites and not in stores in the U.S.Purchase it PERIOD if you enjoy Hannibal Lecter .

I was nervous about about buying this because it's from a vendor that I've never heard of, had very few reviews, has the wrong actors listed and they aren't Region 1 disks (I live in the U.S.). This trilogy set just happens to be the only real one that has all three Anthony Hopkins versions with it though so I really wanted to get it. Having read one of the reviews below stating that it truly is region free and will definitely play in a U.S. blu-ray player and seeing that this is one of the only vendors that have their orders fulfilled by Amazon itself, I decided to take the risk and I'm glad that I did. It came exactly as advertised and truly is region free (I have a Playstation 3) and it worked like a charm. If you are a fan of the Hannibal series of stories then despite whatever misgivings you may have, like I did, I would recommend putting them aside and purchasing this. You won't be disappointed.

Don't know why we have regions where one country comes out with blu ray discs, better storage cases and so forth... perhaps because we live in a country where the cheapest bidder rules, I suppose. Any ways, this set works great, and the cases for the movies are nice and thick.... must be a European thing. When I was stationed in the Netherklands years ago their dvd cases were just as thick, and their dvd's seemed stronger. If you want my advice, if you can find movies with that age rating like 13+ and it's region free, get em! Just better built products all the way around.... you buy cheap, ya get cheap.... lol.

I am not going to completely hate on Manhunter as I have bought it on DVD and Blu-ray before and it is part of my collection, however they really messed up the ending and they left out the tooth fairy's back tattoo. Not to mention I do not like where they have Dr. Lecter incarcerated, I like the dungeon in this series. Now do not get me wrong, the Red Dragon movie also alters the ending from Thomas Harris novel, but it is much more accurate in this one. Get this trilogy and get Manhunter separate if you really want it (as well as Hannibal Rising).

Excellent series! Yes the set does not come with Red Dragon here in the US, so I simply added that to the collection. Blu-Ray quality with some really cool extras. For example, on the extra/bonus for the Silence of the Lambs film you get to listen to a creepy voice mail message prompt from Hannibal. Also, some rather disturbing deleted scenes from the Rising film too. Arrived on time as promised in perfect condition. The more you watch Hannibal Rising the more you realize the back story, so this was a welcome addition to the set.

What else is there to say about everybody's favourite monster? Nothing can match the overall perfecton of Silence of the Lambs, specially in its untoppable lead performances. But the other two pieces are worthy complements. Julianne Moore, as excellent as she is, does not get proper direction to embody Clarice the way Jody Foster did, and of course, they altered the ending (with respect to the book, which is far more satisfying) The remake of Red Dragon is way superior to its low-tech original 'Manhunter", with the added thrill of catching a glympse of Sir Anthony portraying Hannibal once more, while Ed Norton adds some character to Will and Ralph Fiennes plays a compelling Red Dragon.

ontop of great service and speedy delivery the discs where as described and are Multi regional so they do play on MOST standard Region 1 players a great purchase if you want the Anthony Hopkins films

Ich bin richtig sauer. Es stand nicht in der Beschreibung dabei, dass es nur auf 3 Sprachen läuft. Das ist echt eine sauerei eigentlich null Sterne. ich hätte es niemals gekauft wenn dabei gestanden hätte das die Filme nur auf Französich, Englisch und Arabisch laufen! Welche sprache davon kann ich ? Völlig richtig . GAR KEINENicht zu empfehlen

Everything was good except that the blue ray set came in separate DVD cases instead of a sleek blue ray case like everything else comes in now days
