In the UK alone 13.4 million men and women suffer from hair loss and thinning, that’s 3 in 4 men and 1 in 4 women. There are numerous different reasons that could be the cause of your hair loss from genetics to environmental factors. These include; Family history- called male/female pattern baldness or androgenetic alopecia, it usually occurs as you age. This is the most common cause of hair loss. Hormonal changes and medical conditions- hormone changes due to menopause, pregnancy, or thyroid problems. Medical conditions such as alopecia areata can also cause your hair to become patchy. Medications- hair loss can be a side effect of certain drugs and treatments such as chemotherapy. Stress and trauma- Stressful and traumatic events can trigger hair loss to start.
