I've just received the unit, and have not used it on my hoist yet.Build quality look very good hence the 5 stars). Someone had asked if the battery is replaceable, it is, so I made a pre-use post.You must remove 4 small screws on the back of the unit to take the cover off. Inside you will see a large sealed lead/acid battery. Remove the hold down strap and remove the battery harness from the circuit board. The leads should slip right off the battery. That's it! I use this scale for weighing small boat hulls and aircraft components, and it seems to work well. Can't give it five stars because the auto shutoff time is just too short. It would be best to be able to zero the scale with the spreader and slings attached, then move the boat into the lifting rig and weigh, but the scale shuts off too quickly. We now weigh the lifting rig alone after weighing the boat and rig together. Not a big deal, but less convenient than simply using the tare function on the scale.

This scale functions well for our needs in records and processing of wild game and large exotic (~800+ lbs.) animals on the ranch. It is portable and rugged so one doesn't have to baby it too much. We are very satisfied so far.

Order on Amazon. I had lots of trouble from the website. The product is great. I took it to 1,100 with no problems. It can be zeroed with weigh on it which helped me.
