Excellent flash and video light!
This flash works fantastically on my Nikon D5100 camera. I wished I had known about this product in the past. It's a great buy and all the features plus a light for the video. I haven't seen any other flashes with this feature built in on them. I highly recommend this product. It is very affordable and well worth the money.

Semi disappointed
For starters, I did buy this used so that might be a factor in my main complaint about this unit (it didnt work right).I bought this to shoot a wedding this past weekend. It worked (reliably) for about 10 minutes. After shooting about 5-10 pictures at no more than 50% power, it froze up. The pilot light turned red and it wouldnt fire. I thought maybe I just overworked it a little and it just needed a few seconds to recharge...5 minutes later the light was still red. I changed the batteries....same issue, fired off about 10 shots and froze. WHEN it worked, it worked great. I was glad I also had a backup flash. There was also this slight high pitched ringing noise it was making. So, back to my opening sentence. I did buy this used. I don't know how long the person before me had it or how hard they used it. So that could be a factor in the issues I experienced. Also, the main feature that attracted me to this model was the LED video light on the front. I thought it might help out a little in lower light, for the times you need just a little extra light but not necessarily flash. the light is very bright but it didnt really help any in terms of helping to provide ambient light. If you do alot of video work this feature might be more helpful for you than it was for me.Some general observations about the overall design. In manual mode, the power levels go from high-low (left to right). there are 6 or 7 power levels. There is a power level adjustment button, but when you press it it only moves to the right...meaning if you have it on 50% power and you need to increase it to 75%, you cant just bump it up. You have to push the button several times to cycle through down to 25%, 10%, back to 100% and then finally to 75%. It's not a deal breaker but I found it to be a minor annoyance. A (+) and (-) button would have been very helpful. The ETTL mode worked pretty well (while the unit as a whole was functioning.I bought this because I wanted to save a little money over the canon speedlites. But as a serious amateur looking to expand and get into wedding photography, this is not reliable enough for me. for an everyday flash that only gets used for one or two pictures at a time it would probably be ok. But if you are shooting an event where you need a reliable, consistant flash, consider something else.
