Larry Levine Women's Plus-Size Down Jacket with Removable Faux Fur Trim Hood

Let's face it, ladies...finding nice looking plus-size coats is next to impossible. I am really pleased that Larry Levine has taken those of us that don't fit the "standard" size into account. We want to look nice and be warm too! Too bad more labels don't provide pretty things for us, as we have money too. But I digress!I just got this coat today and am already in love with it! I ordered the Loden color and it is far prettier in person than in the picture. I feel like it looks a bit more brown in the picture, but it is actually more of a dark olive in my opinion. The only thing I would change about it is, I think the faux fur on the collar would look better if it was an ivory color as opposed to the color that is close to the color of the coat. I think ivory would have added a nice contrast and given the coat a bit of a pop to it. But this is such a nice coat that that is really a minor thing to me.The coat has an unexpected soft, warm lining around the neck and the same nice lining is also used in the lower pockets. The rest of the coat is lined with a silky like fabric that slides nicely, providing good movement against the clothes you are wearing under it. There are also two higher pockets (lined with the silky fabric). I like this as you can keep money, id, etc...in them if needed, and they are secured with a zipper. I was a bit disappointed that my iPhone 6plus was about 3/4 inch too tall to fit in the pocket. If you have a smaller phone it should fit fine. The secured "belt" in the back gives it a nice tailored appearance, and I like that it is sewn to the coat and doesn't wrap to the front and have to be fastened.As for size: I debated between the 2X and 3X and ended up going with the 3X. I typically wear a 20, and honestly the 2X would have fit just fine but I love to layer and also love to wear thick, warm sweaters so I got the larger size to proved plenty of room underneath. I have thyroid disease and my weight fluctuates constantly so I often get larger sizes for when my weight goes up. I'm 5'5" and the length of the coat is perfect, falling just below my butt. The sleeve length is perfect as well, landing mid-palm when I drop my hands to my side.I've only worn the coat around my house and then out in the backyard/porch, so I can't comment on the warmth yet. I have trips coming up to NYC and Chicago so I am sure I will get to test it out then. I'll try to remember to come back and report on the warmth level after both of those trips are over.Botton line: The coat is awesome, if in doubt, order it! I am going to keep an eye on it and if it provides the warmth I expect it to, I might order another color. I'd love to have this in red, but as of now I don't think it's available. I love this coat!2/24/15 UPDATE: I am still loving this coat and have only good things to say about it. It kept me very warm in NYC and in Chicago. In fact, I got HOT in it when I wore it in NYC and the temps when I was there were high 20's to mid 30's. Now when I was in Chicago, it was freezing, lots of snow and ice and I was toasty warm in this coat. I will say that I found myself wishing I'd ordered a smaller size, gone with the 2X instead of the 3X because the coat is so incredibly warm that I really don't need to do major layering when I'm wearing it. The extra room is unnecessary and in fact, makes me look much larger than I am. It's very comfortable but had I to do it over, I'd go with the 2X. No regrets about buying this coat!

I ordered this in a 3x and it's definitely little snugger than my other lighter winter coat but wearable. I like the extra length in back but it's not too long for us short gals either. I hate hoods, so the removable hood was a big feature for me. I ordered the gray version which has a stainless steel metallic gray look to it. I love the color and the stylish loo of the coat...not the typical stay puff marshmallow look. The coat feels great on...warm but not heavy & bulky. Unfortunately, we're having a weird winter, so I haven't tested it in snow and below 20 degrees yet.

It's hard to find jackets that are not too long to wear while sitting in a wheelchair. It is also hard to find jackets that are large enough to fit around the middle while sitting in a wheelchair. This jacket accomplished both. It is also warm and comfortable and not too hard to get on and off while sitting in my chair. I am very satisfied with this purchase.

I returned did not like the sleeves no knit inside cuffs

Jacket has a generous amount of fill and the faux belted back makes it quite stylish. I expect it will keep me cozy warm when the snow flies. While the fit is acceptable based on its size, I would have preferred a bit more room as winter jackets are oftentimes worn over bulkier clothing.

I am so happy with this beautiful, steel color down jacket! I usually wear an xl or 1x, and I got this in the 1x figuring I'd need a little extra room to wear it over sweaters or blazers and it fits perfectly. My only disappointment is with the removable hood! I haven't been able to figure out how to keep it from sliding down in front of my face, but just having it attached keeps me warm on the super cold days we've had this winter in the Blue Ridge mountains.

I'm 5'6" and normally wear a size 20, (2x) but, based on other reviews saying that this ran small, I ordered up, and found myself swimming in it. It's going back and I've reordered the 2x I should have. But, honestly, it's cozy, felt comfortable on, and the midnight color is a pretty shade. I can't wait to get to second one! I only gave it 4 stars because it didn't fit.

There wasn't anything wrong with the coat, except it was too big and just wasn't my style.

I almost couldn’t wait to give for Christmas!! It fit great and she was super excited!! Great quality, amazing warmth, and fashionable!! And yes, the hood zips off, lmao!!
