The byrd Duckfoot sharpening device is shaped like a duck’s foot and provides a variety of shapes and angles for sharpening different cutting edges. This unique sharpener offers a total of 15 square inches of 600 mesh mono-crystaline diamond sharpening surface. These diamond particles are harder than knife steel and will quickly remove steel to sharpen an edge with only light pressure (in fact if you press too hard you can dislodge the particles). The angles and sides included on the Duckfoot include a 1 -Inch X 5 -Inch flat diamond stone, 3 grooved channels (including a wide-radius channel for de-burring and a narrow radius channel for honing pointed objects), a 20° angle for sharpening knife blades, a 12.5° angle for sharpening scissors and both large and small contact surfaces for sharpening plain edges and serrated blades. The Duckfoot comes packaged in a suede leather carry case that doubles as a non-skid counter top pad while sharpening. A detailed instructional DVD is also included.
