Great replacement at an excellent price
Officially these are VR6 wagon springs, but fit all MKIV regardless of engine. I put them in a 05 Beetle TDI and it sat level. Both OE springs broke - twice. After breaking a replacement used set - I went new.

... with the Moog 81055 towing springs and I really like the extra height
I paired these with the Moog 81055 towing springs and I really like the extra height. My 2000 VW Golf was sagging about 1" from age and these got me up to ~1" above stock, which is nice to keep the too-low oil pan in my TDI off of things and intact, but the car was fairly raked with the towing springs in the back. I later added a 7/8" ID x 1-1/4" OD x 1-1/4" TALL STEEL STANDOFF SPACERS from ebay in between the strut bearing and strut plate which gave a nice little rake to the car and made it almost perfectly level during towing. This caused me no issues and ride is great but I have heard this might cause problems with traction control if you have it(I don't) Alternately I think a 7/8" ID X 1-1/4" OD X 1-3/4" TALL STAINLESS STEEL SPACER would increase the height to just perfectly match the rear towing springs(Moog 81055).

Perfect fit!
Installed these at the same time I replaced my front struts. Good thing, too, because the original springs were both broken a half coil from the bottom! I believe these springs were made in USA, also!

very pleased
inexpensive and sturdy; great replacement for the originals on 2001 Golf TDI (395K miles) that are soft, compressed, worn out and breaking apart; these set a little higher than originals, but that's good in my estimation; can now pass right over the possums and coons and avoid the hits to the low-hanging oil pan; no adverse effects noticed from CV joints, etc., from riding at new angle -- which is probably closer to original than what I have put up with for awhile.

Not front springs! Amazon is wrong!
Amazon/ the moog store says it's for the front of my mk4 golf. It's not. They are rear springs! Thanks a lot! Now I have to reorder...

Good replacement springs
Fixed steering pop from old spring missing upper coil. Steering is smooth and quiet now. Great value for the money. Definitely sits an inch or two higher than the 18 yr old factory spring did.

These are not stock height
I can confirm with others these are not stock height. They sit up 1 to 2 inches. They handle well but if you are very particular about how your car looks be warned. No, they will not settle to stock height with time.If you have anything less than 17 inch rims the height will look even more comical.I used this car in the winter so the height is fine.
