Paradigm Titan, Phantom, Esprit, 3se-Mini 6 Inch Foam Speaker Repair Kit FSK-628 (Pair)

Easy to install and was a perfect fit.
Overall, this was a solid kit with everything needed for the repair, but not the removal of the old surrounds. For that you'll need solvent and a knife. The kit included two foam surrounds, one acid brush, one tube of rubber cement and instructions with pictures. The included surrounds fit my Paradigm Titan V3 woofers perfectly with no overlap so no cutting or trimming was needed. Once reinstalled into their cabinets they really do work just like new. The original surrounds appeared to have been attached using some type of rubber cement as well so hopefully these will last another twenty years. The preparation for the repair was the most difficult and time consuming part of the job and once the cones and baskets were cleaned up the actual repair itself took mere minutes. If you're looking at getting one of these I'd recommend cleaning up the cone and basket with a razor blade or utility knife first and then removing the remaining glue with acetone or alcohol. Some cone materials may not do well with acetone so be careful! Mine are polystyrene so I was able to clean them with acetone and then remove any residue with 90% Isopropyl alcohol immediately prior to gluing on the surrounds to ensure no oils were left behind from handling. I attached the surrounds to the cone first by drawing a thin bead of glue around the flattened outer edge of the cone and let them sit for one hour. I lifted the outer edge of the surround in sections while applying a larger bead of glue to the basket. I did have to press the outer surround down to the basket several times while it cured using the back of my utility knife as a smooth and flat edge. As it cured it began to pull up a bit at the outermost edge so I had to baby sit them for a couple of minutes before setting them off to dry for about 3 hours. The actual process of gluing the surrounds down took less than 5 minutes per speaker not counting the curing time and prep work. The total work time for both speakers was a bit over an hour with the initial cleaning taking around 20-30 minutes per driver.Included are a picture of the driver with the damaged surround, one of the cleaned and prepped drivers and one of the finished product. There are small bits of glue that seeped out around the cone in a few spots so be careful to use JUST ENOUGH glue to do the job.

Works for Paradigm Titan v3
I bought a pair of Paradigm Titan v3's for a good price from a local thrift store. being 20 years old, the surrounds blew within a week of usage. To clean them off i used a razor blade for the basket, and just my finger for the cone, and then finished off the basket with some rubbing alcohol. For anyone using these surrounre for a paradigm titan v3, MAKE SURE TO GLUE TO THE CONE FIRST!! The fit made me pause, because it seemed like the inside lip wasn't big enough to fit the cone. but, after putting a bead of glue on the cone and just going for it, i ended up getting it pretty well centered and it turned out okay. 2 days later, they are holding well and sound great!$25 is a stretch for 2 pieces of foam and some glue, but it brought my speakers back to life and shipped pretty quickly so i won't complain too loudly.

Great product, easy to install and saves lots of money
I use my Titan v.1 speakers as surround speakers in my home theater setup, and I have had them for over 15 years. They are great speakers, so when one of them started rattling or vibrating or something, I assumed I'd have to replace them and started worrying about cost, timbre matching, etc. Found this repair kit with good reviews, and watched the manufacturer video before even buying the kit. It was a different brand of speaker, but the procedure seemed fairly universal. My next issue was that the fabric grilles on the v.1s are not removable, but I did a quick YouTube search and found an easy-to-follow video for removing the driver from the cabinet and was able to do so easily. Just be careful with the insulation inside the cabinet; it gets a bit itchy. After opening up the cabinet and removing the driver, it was obvious the foam edge was just obliterated, so I ordered the kit. It arrived very quickly and I was able to replace the foam edge easily according to the instructions. One note about the glue...I'm not much of a do-it-yourselfer, so I really couldn't visualize what 1/8" bead of glue was supposed to look like, and I used way too much. It didn't hurt the speaker or ruin the installation in any way, but it did get messy and was totally my fault. After everything was fully dried, I reinstalled the driver in the cabinet, hooked it back up, and it was as good as new. Great product, and a big money saver with a minimum of work.

Bitchin' Magician
Check Fakespot to be sure, but pretty much everything from Simply Speakers is solid. I ordered the kit for Paradigm Titan V2 (Same as V1 I *Think*) and it worked perfectly. Just watch the Youtube video on it, which the instructions are taken from. Their quick drying glue (smells like airplane glue) takes an hour to setup for the inner join (to the cone), then another hour for the outer join (to the basket). They really know their Schmidt, and I've been trying to find some fault in the full, punchy bass these reconditioned speakers produce, and I cannot. Here's my technique for ridding the cone and basket of the old glue/foam: start with the basket and just use your fingers to pick off the glue about 1/2 cm at a time so it all comes up in one piece, rather than grabbing at it over and over because it will beak and you'll have 75,000 pieces. As for the foam/glue stuck to the cone, get mineral spirits. Paint it on with an old natural bristle brush and leave it for 2 min....make sure it doesn't drip down onto the dust cap, or it will dissolve that too. Then, take a razer black and drag it straight up and down over that foam, that has liquified, and wipe off on some paper towels. Use alcohol to clean up the mineral spirits residue on the cone and basket...there should be NO RESIDUE ANYWHERE leftover. If there is, keep working. This should last 10-15 years so do it right. Word.

Works as intended
This was the third repair I have done using these kits. I have now repaired the subwoofer, center channel, and the two main Titans on my again Paradigm home theater set. Instructions are pretty straight forward. Glue application is a bit tricky. Just take your time to do it as instructed and you will achieve a good result!
