good product, bad size chart
I noticed many of the reviewers said that their dogs were able to pull the muzzle off. I believe this is due to a problem with the size chart. I would recommend ordering the size you think your dog would be, not the size that the chart tells you to order. My dog (Lab mix) would have been an XL if I had added the two inches that the size chart recommends. I ordered a Large instead, and it fits her perfectly. I could see that if it had been any bigger, she would have been able to pull it off easily. This muzzle is made of plastic, and would probably break with an extra persistent dog, but it does seem comfortable and lightweight and has worked for my dog.

Needed to go up a size
My border collie needed a muzzle to stop licking a wound on his back paw. The cone worked, but it prevented him from using the dog door, and with us at work nine hours a day, it wasn’t a good situation. He measured on the high end of a Size 4, so we tried that first (pink one in photos). It fit, but a little more snugly than we’d hoped. He could kind of drink with it on, but he couldn’t pant. We used it until the Size 5 arrived (Black one in pics). It’s roomy enough that he can drink more easily and pant. He can wear it all day without hindering his ability to move around and use the dog door.Tip: hook the strap through your dog’s collar to keep it in place. Our dog figured out how to get it off on day 3. Looping it through the collar has worked great.Pros: Cheap; flexible; great for dogs with a licking problem because it completely blocks the tongue from getting out (unlike every other brand I could find); dog can drink and pant with it on.Cons: Probably not durable enough for a rowdy dog; strap needs to be snugged down every so often; easy to get off if not paired with a collar.

Waste of Money.... Buyer Beware
I was buying this for my dog's (Chow Chow) trip to the vet at the end of the week. As he does not like the vet and tries to bite them in the face, I thought it would be a good idea to get a muzzle. As a basket muzzle is more comfortable for the animal and I only needed it once a year I went with the cheapest alternative... You get what you pay for. If I could leave zero stars I would.... This product is so horrible the company that makes it, is too embarrassed to put it's name on the product anywhere. Here is the list of issues I have with this product:1) Cheap plastic...2) Fabrics straps almost ripped in half as I was adjusting...3) Chow Chow had it off in less than 5 seconds..... He did not try that hard4) Pitbull had it off in 10 seconds .... She did not try at all... It loosened as she walked down the stairs...5) Does not appear any thought was given to the comfort of the dog... Which I do not likeI will be returning this for a second time and buying a Baskerville 8-1/2-Inch Rubber Ultra Muzzle, Size-5, Black I would go with a Baskerville basket muzzle which Amazon also sells, It is a far better product even if it costs $12-$15 more. If you intend to you this on a regular basis I would ask a pet expert of your local vet for the best muzzle solution for your situation.

Great product for the price
This is a very nice product, especially for the price. I trained my dog to use it by putting a little peanut butter on it for him to lick it and to get used to it. The next day I started to use it. I had two problems, but both were solvable. The first is that he could knock it off of his face with his foot. To fix this, I just looped the neck strap through his collar. The second problem was that it was very difficult to get the right size for this product. It took me three times to get it right. Fortunately, Amazon makes it extremely easy to return things. I didn’t think that the instructions were very clear for sizing a dog’s snout. As you can see, I have a golden retriever, and I ended up using the largest size possible. This gave his mouth a little more wiggle room. I also like the fact that I could get this in a beige color that somewhat matches his fur. I have been using it for several days now and my dog is getting very used to it. It’s a good product and I would recommend it. Very sturdy too.

Works as a muzzle, but has a lot of other problems.
We got this for our young yellow Lab. He has a wider face so it just barely fit, though we could tell his lips were squished and the edges got uncomfortable close to his eyes. Luckily he only have to wear it for a couple of moments as we were on a shuttle in a national park and they required the dogs be muzzled. If I had to buy a muzzle again I wouldn't buy this kind, I would instead get a fabric muzzle which seems far more comfortable and less "Hannibal Lecter" looking. The muzzle doesn't collapse well so it takes up a lot of room if you just want to carry it in a purse or saddle bag. It's a hard plastic, but our dog managed to chew through one side completely (when it was hanging around his neck) and render it useless pretty fast.My main complaint is that it makes it hard for the dog to breath out it's nose because it has a plastic grate in front of the nostrils. Our dog was hot after hiking and this muzzle made it hard for him to breath, and impossible for him to pant (which he has to do to cool down). We had to take it off for this reason even though we were on the shuttle. I don't know if they make muzzles that allow dogs to pant though.Overall I wouldn't recommend it. If you have to buy a muzzle just for limited use go with a fabric style. It'll be light to carry, softer on your dogs face, less creepy looking, and hopefully your dog will be able to breath easier. As a muzzle it worked basically, but overall we were disappointed with it.

Fits my difficult to fit large Corso
My Corso is hard to fit, I am not paying $$$ for a custom fitted muzzle for only vet visits. This will be his 4th muzzle as he has outgrown his others. It is just wide enough which is fine, his problem is muzzle digging in his side of his skull or digging under his eyes, this one fits under which he likes.I always add a extra strap on the back to attach to his collar which is the safest way when out of my site around ignorant Vet Techs that aren't respectful to his PTSD Trauma when he was a puppy.

Useful
I have not used muzzles in my salon before now but recently, had a dog training friend show one of the best suggestions I have ever had shared with me.To distract a dog while grooming, using tie wraps, attach the muzzle at the height of the individual dogs head directly onto the post that holds the safety loops. Cut off any strap attachments. Then, smear the dogs favorite spreadable (I most often use cream cheese or peanut butter) on parts of the muzzle just far enough that the dog must reach in to get the spread. Depending on the shape of the dogs head, I will use a short snout pug muzzle OR this one. After the groom is finished, wash & place in top rack of dishwasher. This is proving to be a glorious idea for difficult dogs and will surely lead me to purchase more muzzles just for this purpose.
