Earth Friendly Products Auto Dishwasher Gel - 40 oz - 2 pk

I scrub off every bit of visible debris from my dishes. I can only rightfully give this four stars because I can't be sure how well it does. Sometimes there is still residue on my dishes. But, my dishwasher is at the end of its lifespan, which is why I scrub off all my dishes instead of scraping them or rinsing them. I love Earth Friendly Products. I like the company, their other products, and their actual commitment to the environment. This product works, but it's not the best on the market for cleaning your dishes. It is one of the best products on the market for Eco responsibility. So it's a trade off. I'll use it again, for sure, but I'll need to be more diligent in prepping my dishes first.

By far this is our favorite Eco soap for the automatic dishwasher. We have used a few and they leave residue and this one doesn't. It leaves my dishes smelling good (which sounds odd), but I have had some eco soaps smell odd.

Unfortunately not! Left all my glasses filmy. Just dumpted the rest down the drain and went back to Seventh Generation. Waste of money: (

I'm really quite pleased with the performance of this dishwasher detergent. Dishes come out squeaky clean, better than the powder "ecofriendly" brands I've tried in the past. The container states to fill just one detergent cup -- follow that direction. I fill the one that has a lid (and close the lid) and that works just fine.While I do rinse my dishes to remove chunky stuff before putting them in the dishwasher, that step really has nothing to do with the performance of the detergent, it's a matter of preventing the recirculating water from flinging food chunks all over the washer which then stick on various different dishes or pool in the water collection spots on some dishes. Additionally, I admit I also will scrub-until-loose the stuck-on stuff, like egg yolks, baked on mac-n-cheese, etc,(then rinse) before putting in the dishwasher...but then again, that too has nothing to do with the expected performance of a detergent. If I have to scrub back a forth at least a few times after soaking it in water and detergent in order to get it to loosen up, how on earth can I expect water and detergent in the dishwasher to miraculously rake that crud off?Finally -- the performance of this detergent is great with not-too-hard water. I have terribly hard water, and thus have a water softner. When I noticed the dishes came out splotchy one day, I checked the water softener, and the salt crystals were low. So I added more -- and presto mundo, the dishes came out wonderful again. So folks should keep in mind the possibility that hard water (which also messes with laundry detergent performance) could be influencing how well their detergents work.

I chose this product because it was eco-friendly and said it could work on coffee stains. I've tried this gel in two separate dishwashers one GE and the other Frigidaire ( with a separate jet sprayer for the top rack). Even the same day's mug which had coffee just in it that morning didn't come clean. Also it does make glassware and pots and pans very cloudy. I really wonder what they put in this stuff. Oh and one other thing if you for any reason would want to waste your money on this product don't get the lavender scent- it smells terrible! So disappointed in such a waste of money and of my time and resources to rewash what this product failed to do. Unfortunately I could not give this zero stars- or it would be that instead of one.

If you expect that you can put dirty dishes in the dishwasher and they will come out clean, pass on the Wave Dishwasher Gel. It doesn't work. If you want to use it, plan on pre-washing everything before it goes in the dishwasher.
