I knew from the size it was not for playing and the tipper that comes with it is also useless for such also but I guess can be used as a display also. That said, I'm very happy with it up on my wall and looks exactly as advertised.

Definitely a kids product but it’s a good intro instrument if you want to learn

This little drum did not deliver the "deeper and robust" sound promised in the description. Although the colored design is attractive, it feels and sounds like a toy drum.Yes, I'm a novice Bodhran player, but even a newbie needs and wants to learn on an instrument of decent size and sound quality. After a LOT of looking and researching, I faced the fact that there isn't a good quality Irish drum on Amazon for under fifty dollars. I returned this one and opted for the 18" Bodhran from MAS Pro that comes with a FREE gig bag. It's authentic in size, sound and feel and you can't beat the price for a drum and beater and carry bag combo. Now I feel like I'm really playing!

it was purchased for a 91 birthday gift,and the person was delighted. we go to drum circles here in florida it was here in time for his birthday very fast delivery considering it came all the way from ireland

The drum is lovely decoration, but it is advertised as an instrument. I have purchased two, and both broke almost immediately. The skin is very thin, and when you try to play it (with the included beater) it just tears to shreds. I contacted Waltons and received no reply. Very disappointed.Update: The customer service from CDWorld is exceptional. They are replacing the bodhran I bought from them at no cost. The second was purchased in Ireland, so I had originally contacted the manufacturer, and I have still not received any reply from Waltons. But CDWorld answered right away, and took care of the problem immediately. I would not hesitate to shop with them again.

This was a beautiful little drum. Good for goofing around to see if you like it before purchasing a more expensive bodhran, but tone quality is terrible and size is small. Great for occasional rather than frequent use.

My son learned about this in school then wanted one. He was very excited to receive it. They have lots of designs to choose from, it's affordable, and it arrived quickly.
