A good read for walkers not bike riding
It is mostly walking routes and not too many cycling routes great for walkers though

Good basic guide
Sound basic guide to walking in the Black Forest. It would probably be best to supplement it with a Kompass map, which you can buy locally, although most of the trails are very well signposted. One word of warning - local bus services can be very erratic and it's worth stressing that the dedicated wanderbus that serves the Wutach gorge only operates between Schattenmühle and Wutachmühle. Would recommend Freiburg as a base.

Great travel companion
I bought this book to help plan for an upcoming holiday in the Black Forest when I'm planning 3 or 4 days of walking. Really helpful guide to the region which helped us work out where to stay. There are about 15 walks for all abilities and tastes and the routes look easy to follow. I can't wait to try some of them out!

Good but not great.
I only used this for one walk. The overall description was useful in deciding which walk to do and the general route, however I found that there wasn't enough detail in the instructions given for the actual walk so we missed turnings or walked too far in some sections. I ended up making decisions on route based more on the detailed walking map I purchased separately. Overall it was useful, but could be improved by clearer step by step instructions.

Maps are not much use
You will need to buy a separate map for each walk, but otherwise its not bad.

Four Stars
This is OK but there's plenty of resource for walks free on-line
