Shires Fine Mesh Fly Mask With Ears and Nose - Teal

I'd bought one of these before years ago for a 14.2 cob, and the cob size fits my 13.2/.3 cob as well.Both are roughly a cob sized bridle, my pony is sometimes a big pony, a cob or sometimes a small full.These are really nice quality masks, I bought one that lasted at least 2 years.Unlike some others, this ACTUALLY covers their nose.Awesome UV protection, I could get sunscreen on my ponys nose (he hates it) and he rubs it off almost immedidately anyway. So his pink nose was getting burnt and peeling.After 24 hours with this on his nose was almost completely recovered and it's been super sunny since and no more pink nose burn!It says not to machine wash but I do occasionally on the lowest, slowest wash and that works perfectly.This will stay on and is designed to be used without a headcollar, I leave it on day and night without any issues. Stays on snuggly and very rarely comes off.Would always recommend these, I worked with horses and saw many different brands that weren't anywhere near as good.

Cocoa was not a fan of the nose covering. It tickled her nose and made her snort & sneeze. It was a bit too long, so I tried stitching up to make it shorter but eventually cut it off & she's much happier. We'll stick to sun cream to protect her pink nose instead. I found the nose covering attracted mud too where her nostrils made it damp.Overall it's a good mask & sits away from the eyes. We have different versions of the Shires mask for our other horses and they always fit well. In the last photo she is wearing the version without nose & ears.

I chose this because 2 day delivery was promised under Prime membership and I needed it quickly because my horse’s fly mask suddenly disintegrated. It arrived the next day, which was brilliant. It was more expensive than I probably would normally have chosen but it was worth the extra because (a) it’s good quality and (b) it arrived very quickly.

Good quality mask that doesn't just sink on to his face like other have. Got him Cob as even though he's a pony he has a funny shaped head lol! Hides his nose well to stop the sun😊 No longer bothered by the flies.

My horse James looks stylish with his new fly bonnet! Fits perfectly. He is a 15.2 thoroughbred. Really strong Velcro. The nose net helps him this time of year as he is sensitive to pollen and head shakes. Love the teal colour too.

I've bought a few of these across the summer months, not because they break or are not very good - quite the opposite! I just like to have a few so I can wash them regularly. They're brilliant. Lovely and roomy across the eyes and my big silly horse doesn't seem to be able to get these off either!

Shires seem to have cracked the fly mask design and materials. This is the first time my horse has had one (he's not bothered by flies except his ears and eyes) and he hasn't pulled it off. I like the turquoise which suits a chestnut, and it stands well clear of his eyes. Fits true to size, as they say. Several horses on the yard have these, or the earless version.

Absolutely love it. Great quality, probably the best quality fly mask I've owned actually. Velro is not that flimsy stuff they can get off! Really good fit too, bought cob size for my lightweight cob. She didn't like the nose flap at first but go used to it after a day. Definitely recommended.
