Great Entertainment Value for a Wide-Ranging Audience, but Not For Everybody
This animation took me by surprise.Having been expecting an animation geared to an audience of young children, I found it to be more appropriate to an older age group, as limited knowledge of historical facts and characters would restrict the understanding of the subject matter to those not old enough to appreciate the contexts fully. Some funny moments added to the entertainment value and witty dialogue served to enhance the humour.Overall a fascinating animation, which would be best appreciated by a wide-ranging age-group old enough to appreciate the subject matter and the underlying humour which emerges from time to time.

'Pop' history and time travel for kids
Our son requested, nay demanded, that we watch this for family movie night. He had seen it before at a cinema with a family friend but wanted to watch it again. My wife and I acquiesced somewhat reluctantly. However we were surprised at how enjoyable it was. The underlying premise of the film is a combination of 'If a boy can adopt a dog then surely a dog can adopt a boy' together with 'And what if the dog is a genius - and so invents a time machine'. There is also a subplot related to bullying. This is a fun film aimed at under 10s and frankly does hit the mark. I have given it 5 stars on that basis - ie our 9 year old loves it. For parents it is mildly amusing but perhaps a tad predictable; it is pleasant but don't look too deeply into the story line. There are occasional jokes aimed at adults (eg Bill Clinton etc) but blink and you will miss them. There is some 'pop history' of the world - eg appearances by Marie Antoinette, Agamemnon, Leonardo da Vinci but I think it would be hard to 'justify' that it really is an educational film - except perhaps for very young children (eg age 5 or so). I can imagine for younger viewers it could be used to explore some history. It is fun and engaging and I suspect our son will watch it again - and it is the kind of movie that we can safely put it on when he has friends around knowing that they are watching something 'appropriate'.Target audience: 5 - 10 year olds - five stars for them.

Good entertainment
I was pleasantly surprised because the TV show is not good, too much adult-based dry humour and not written well for children. Good fast paced action, great visual action - character development theme was a little writing by numbers but still, it worked.

Arrived in good time.
I was really looking forward to watching this film but when I got round to it my dvd player wouldn't play it. I don't know whether this is down to it being a different region or not a good disc. If the film played on my dvd player it would have got 5 stars.

no discount for prime member as stated
Movie was great for the kids but it stated that there was a discount for prime members this was not applied. Not a great deal of difference but clearly false advertising.

they absolutely love it. They've watched it a further two times ...
I'll give it 4 stars. I've had to watch it twice with my grandchildren, they absolutely love it. They've watched it a further two times that I'm aware of. They are aged 5 and 3 years old, I think that they would give it a five star rating. Now they want a time machine for Christmas. p.s Have you ever tried explaining to a 3 year old why a baby gets to be abandoned in a cardboard box and is adopted by a dog?
