Bought them for shoes...primarily suede shoes that sit out and get dusty. But I use them for all kinds of dusty things: baskets, woven purses, books, etc.They are very soft and good for semi delicate items.

A horsehair brush is a necessary step 2 when performing this task. This brush provides superior results. It is essential for a light touch up on the leather. Follow with a soft buff.

The brown handle brush with the dark hair is beautifully made, well crafted, and the handle is comfortable. I had a slight issue with the light brown handle brush with the white hair. it seemed like the wood was not as smooth as the brown and I could feel it prickling my fingers however I reached out to the seller and they refunded me a couple dollars which was very nice. I sanded it down a little bit to make it very smooth and now it's perfect very happy with both my brushes.

*When I got this brush, the first thing I noticed is that some bristles were oddly uniform, so I pulled two and did the burn test, and one melted and the other burned (indicating some bristles are made of a plastic while other bristles are natural fibers). So while this may be 100% horse hair, it's not 100% hair. But would this make a difference in the shoe shining? Idk. Shoe shining isn't a science, and I wasn't about to wait 2 weeks for a brush.Good product, slightly salty about the marketing.

I would prefer a bit longer, but this length works quite well.I find shorter brushes in my hand have a tendency to bang into the shoe more often than longer brushes.My brush did not shed much, even after pulling at the hairs with a bit more tension than regular brushing would do.They brush well as expected.

Purchased them for my cowboy boots, its cleaned soft leather, finished leather, suede, and lizard skin so far. 5-10 pieces of hair shed during that entire process. Pretty darn good.

These are a great size for personal use, and they come in a set of two if you need to use different colors.I use these on boots, Riedell skates, and dress shoes (all black). The bristles are soft horse hair, so they are gentle enough to not scuff the shoes, but firm enough to do a good polish.These feel like they will last a long time, and I would definitely recommend.Good deal for a decent price.

Just the right order. Soft is a relative term and really does not describe a product well. These brushes are soft enough to get into cracks and seams of your shoe and the price defies the value.

When younger, replaced leather. Now have classic, better quality footwear, clothing, accessories and furniture that requires upscaling of care. Googled the “proper” way, bought products to clean, condition and, if necessary, cream polish, a few buffing cloths and these brushes. Once started, couldn’t stop - amazing how much I had that needed TLC. There are likely better brushes, but was impressed by the quality for the money. These are real horse hair, with longer bristles (most in this price range have shorter bristles, that can’t be cut) and yes, some hair does fall out, but not much. They perform as expected, generally feel comfortable in your hand and seem to be the correct size. I have no experience with others, but recommend these. You need two and these are good quality and good value. I recommend these - would buy again. They arrived sooner than expected too.

Overall quality is okay. The biggest issue I have is that the horse hairs wont stop coming off. I have been gently using the brush to hopefully take off all the loose hairs but it never seems to end which is super disappointing. I originally intended for this brush to be used on my dress shoes but I may reserve it for a different use for this reason.Please be aware of this fact as it can make your life difficult if youre working on any type of leather product. The hairs can stick to your polish/creams so be sure to look out for the hairs and remove them promptly. Otherwise they can leave marks behind which means extra work to them buff out. Also the hairs do tend to get caught in corners so look out for those as well.This brush is decent for the price, you get somewhat what you pay for. If you can afford it, it may be best to put out the extra money for a better quality brush.

As a novice, I wanted to up keep my leather shoes and doc martens myself and these are doing a fine job if I do say so myself. Few strands of hair have fallen off but nothing to worry about in terms of overall performance
