We gave my 5 year old son this watch as a reward for swimming so well. This was also his first real watch. He wanted a watch that can do the things that his older sister's watch can do: waterproof to swim, stop watch and makes beeps as reminders. He also got a bonus that he can press a button to make the watch glow to tell time in the dark (Indiglo). My son has small wrists and this watch fits great on him due to the velcro strap.My son never takes it off. Waterproof works well. He wears it to swim classes and showers with this on all the time.PROS- Great kids features. Stop watch, timer, alarm and glows to see in the dark- Great parents features: Waterproof and velcro strap to fit small wrists- Inexpensive. Even if this watch only lasts one year, I would have gotten my money's worth- Styling for a boy. Flames on the strap. Rocket, race car and other icons to represent features (e.g. timer or stop watch)CONS- Buttons are a little hard to press. My son doesn't mind it because he loves the watch so much. To make changes (like change the amount of time on the timer) you have to hold down the button for a few seconds. Which may be a little difficult.- Fonts of the numbers are like the real cheap watches. My son doesn't notice it though. He just loves the watch.- Silver parts scratches easily. Not an issue for us.- Velcro strap feels a little stiff. More of an initial worry than an actual con. I was worried that the strap would irritate him, but has not been a problem at all.OVERALLI would buy this watch again and would recommend it as a great first watch. Even though it is a pretty inexpensive watch, the feature set is perfect for kids and their parents.

This is a FANTASTIC kids watch. I bought this for my son (age 5) so that he can tell the time, but also so that I can set the timer and let him go to the neighborhood park with his older sister, who has a similar Timex watch for the same purpose. The watch is lightweight, comfortable, has awesome flames my son loves, and the strap is velcro so my son can put it on himself. The watch and all its functions work just as expected. The buttons are a bit tough for him to set but it's not really an issue for us as I set the watch and he doesn't mind. But, if your kiddo wants to do that on their own, it might require a bit more manual dexterity than most young kids have. He's been using it for 6 months and it still looks great and works well. It's gotten wet when he runs through the sprinkler and is fine, but I wouldn't let him swim with it as I read that it was water-resistant but not water-proof. A great purchase at a fantastic price point - would definitely buy again if we lost it!

The watch itself is very good - all the expected features, a clear screen, good backlight, easy to figure out. The band fits oddly on my 7 year old (who I bought it for) - partly because it has gone beyond the division between the hooks and the loops, and partly because the plastic on the one side of the band is somewhat stiff and doesn't contour well. This would probably be a great watch for a slightly older child (9-10 years old).

My son has had this watch for 2 months but already the MODE button does not work. As a result, we cannot change the minutes or access the timer. Oh and the watch runs slow so you need to change the minutes regularly. Contacted Timex and they charge $8 for warranty service (handling charge)! Trying to decide if it's worth it when it may just stop working again anyway.

The main watch piece is quite large a child to wear on their wrist and it doesn't sit right on the strap or arm. We're going to try a replacement strap from elsewhere. I should have returned it earlier.

My 6 yr old son bought this with his birthday money. After buying and returning another watch from Target and looking at reviews I hoped this one would fit the bill. It's perfect! Great watch, stays on well both in the pool and out (smart velcro band). Has all the features he was looking for: stopwatch, timer, light and waterproof. I know, what 6 yr old really needs all of this, right? But he loves it. He uses the stopwatch and timer function often to time himself and this watch is easy for him to use. He's asked me to remind him how to reset it a few times, but he is only 6. What I also like is that each function has an icon in the corner for ease of remembering what function you are in: a rocket for timer, skateboard for stopwatch, etc. Overall, it's a great watch at a great price.

The strap needs improvement. The watch itself is nice, and easy to use. My son absolutely LOVES this watch, but he can't wear it because of the strap. Something with the manufacturing, and it's a flaw I think. Here's the problem, the stitching in the wristband, which is velcro, HURTS my son's wrist. It's like the stitching is plastic and any small imperfection pokes up and out, and into the wearer's skin. I tried everything to reduce this problem...trimmed with scissors. Burned with a lighter. Even a file...but each time I fix one of the pokey threads, another one appears. Kind of sucks, because otherwise my son loves it, and he TRIES to wear it, but has to take it off. Right now he puts it on the leg of a stuffed bear in his bed and picks the bear up when he needs to check the time.

This was a gift for our 6 year old son. It has time/date, timer and stopwatch, which is perfect for a first time watch owner. My son was quickly able to master the velcro band which fits well on his little wrist and seems to be holding up well after about 2 months. He loves how it has the light so that he can check the time in the dark. And regardless of whether we are in a light room or a dark room, I love how his face lights up when I ask him, "What time is it?"

This watch worked well for our child. I loved the velcro strap as it was easy for them to put it on and take it off. Indiglo light was a hit too. Great for a first watch!

Achetée pour un enfant de 9 ans au poignet très fin... Réglage du bracelet facile pour la taille (dépasse encore un tout petit peu mais rien de gênant). La montre s'enfile et le bracelet tient parfaitement bien grâce à un long scratch. Après un mois et demi elle est comme neuve. Qualité plus que correcte pour le prix. Les différentes fonctions sont simples à maîtriser. L'affichage digitale est bien lisible. L'éclairage et l'alarme vraiment efficace. En revanche,cette montre ne me semble pas vraiment faite pour aller dans l'eau. Le mode d'emploi est en français.Montre qui va probablement durer. Fiston ne la quitte plus.Je la recommande particulièrement pour un enfant dyspraxique, qui pourra ainsi mettre sa montre tout seul et lire l'heure sans difficulté : - )

Taille correcte pour garçon de 10 à 14 ans n'aimant pas les grosses montres.Le bracelet souple est moderne. Mon fils est ravi.
