Great product, good price, sleeper hit of 11th birthday
My son had fun assembling this, it took him 10-15 minutes. Once done, he spun the wind generator a few moments and tried the engine/glider, which did not have much power for flight. He gave up and moved on to the next toy. On a whim, he and I worked together to spin the windmill manually for 4 minutes or so to try to get to full charge. After a few non-powered glider tests and bending the wing a little to maximize flight, we were ready for the main show. The flight was fairly long and he was hooked! I will say the wind was in our favor and the glider does not derive very much power from flight, but as far as STEM, learning, conversation about power generation, power storage, powered flight and even flight dynamics, it was well worth it at a few dollars under $20. I would pay $30 for this same thing with upgrades to wind generator motor, glider battery, and reinforcing/ better laminating the glider wing for durability. We used bonding strips (clear tape) on ours after the 12th crash slightly tore the wing. My son decided to protectively put a strip of tape on all the edges and small parts of the wing, which worked great to increase durability. We are still flying after a few weeks and many dozen crash landings!

Easy to put together!
Overall it was easy to put together and seemed to work as it should. I think it can be done with ages younger than 14 with some assistance.

The tower seems sturdy, but the blades and glider are concerning.
The item is relatively robust in construction as far as the tower, base, and charging module are concerned. However, the plastic fan blades do seem a bit frail and could crack easily if subjected to any pressure. I am concerned about it blowing over in decently high wind. And you need decently high wind for the blades to turn in order to generate power. The idea that the glider can sit on it and charge while it spins is neat, but the glider wings are mere foam and would decay quickly left out in the elements. I would also expect them to tear off if subjected to the decently high winds needed to spin the turbine. They are secured only by a thin strip of double sided tape, and again are made only of a thin foam.Thankfully, the instructions state that you can let the charging module spin without the glider on it to get the internal capacitor charged up and then later attach the glider indoors or under calm conditions to let it charge. The system came with some residual power left in the glider unit, but I have to say that it doesn't glide very well and the little fan that spins doesn't generate any propulsion. It's more of a gimmick than a functional device that would extend a child's toss. I wouldn't really recommend this product as, in the end, it has disappointing performance. It looks nice though, and my girls enjoyed assembling it for the few minutes that took.

Falls apart/breaks easily
Son was excited to get this and it is really meet but first the gliders little black propeller fell out while it was flying and can’t be found and then the glider landed in the grass and the wing cracked. So very disappointed as this was something my son was excited to play with. Not a lot of extra money since Covid-19 cost me my job but wanted to surprise my son with this and it is useless now after 2 hrs.

Younger than 14 will surely enjoy it
My sons are 8 and 9 years old and get put it together following the directions and now very proud of themselves, and they love it and fascinated with wind energy now.

Don't purchase this... not a good toy, not worth the money
It "works" if you mean it charges via STRONG wind and transfers that electricity to a glider type thing with a little bitty propeller. The user gets ONE use per charge. The charges take a few minutes under STRONG wind (use a box fan for quick turn around). The glider doesn't work because of the heaviness of the motor/power pack. The little propeller is way too small to push the heavy motor/power pack. The wings of the glider are foam and easily bend/break or come detached from the motor/power pack and become useless. The generator became noisy after a week or two... developed a rattle. The blue LED still lights up... the only pro to this whole kit.Don't purchase this and expect much. I find this a total waste of money. It became a frustration point since the glider requires tweaks to make it fly straight and then long wait times between uses and breaking around the 10th use.

Great gift for kids
Excellent item, but you might want to live in an area with more wind/breeze or a tavle/stand fan hahahahaha
