Good overal quality, release was accurately adjustable. Let off was crisp and at low settings
Wish a leash was provided, but I solved that with a bit of parachute cord. No negatives for this product.

almost perfect
my four star rating is not due to a flaw in the craftsmanship, but specific to this design, and my star deduction is worth noting if you are not familiar with the spot hogg releases, which i was not before this purchase. let me say first, that i left this release exactly as i got it, no adjustments made. it is not super hot, but is more goldilocksish, just right. as far as the shot goes, this is pretty darned sweet. i was using a copper john eagle2 and wanted a similar hand-upside-down release without spending the money on a carter...yet. as i said, this fulfilled my expectations in that regard. my issue is with the enclosed head design. it is kind of a trick to make sure that this release is open in order to attach it to my string loop. you have to flick your wrist to make sure the hook is in the right position, then you hook it onto the loop (not as easy as it sounds), then you push the hook up into the release with the loop attached using your index finger and hold it there as you set the trigger upwards with your thumb. it is a process that you get used to, but it still takes a bit of dexterity that some will probably accomplish accompanied by cursing. which is too bad, because the release is smooth and is just as accurate as any i have used. it should be noted that the spot hogg friday night delight (?) is this same design, but without the totally enclosed head. i got the saturday over the friday because i was concerned about hitting myself in the jaw...but if i was to do it over, i'd probably get the half-headed friday night delight. spot hogg could possibly remedy this with a closure actuator on the back. either way, very nice release, with just that one bit of acrobatics required.update: i have been using this for about two weeks now and i must admit that the hook up gets quicker as you get used to feeding your string loop into the head. and i have not had this release let go pre-maturely yet. solid hook up and there is a distinct click when you get it on your string loop so you can tell it is ready to go. i would still like this better if there were an actuator somewhere to close the hook, but i am giving the fifth star because it hooks up solid and it lets go clean and smooth and is every bit as buttery, silky good as my copper john was before i ruined it with loctite.update#2: i have noticed that you can get the exact thing i was suggesting above in the carter simple 1 release. but you will also pay twice the money for it. and i cant imagine that it can be any smoother than the sat night special. if spot hogg gave it a seprate closure device it would be a six star release.

Right hand and left also
Very prompt delivery and a quality product. This release is advertised as right hand. This was misleading I am left handed and simply flipped the thumb knob to the opposite side. All my sights and releases are spot hogg. Quality products

Great release!
Very comfortable release for smaller hands. Easy to adjust the trigger tension. Great value for the price.

Great Release
I had heard about this release several times. I put off ordering it for a year. I finally decided to give it a try. I hunted with a tru-ball t-handle release before ordering this one. The adjustment to the trigger is wonderful. I couldn't adjust my tru-ball release to get a light trigger without the fear of a misfire. You can adjust this release as light as you want and not worry about the release misfiring. You may adjust it to be too light and YOU may cause a misfire. GREAT release for 3D as well! Love it!

Unsafe and unpredictable
This was a poor choice. It's super finicky to try and get latched onto the string. You have to shake it down to open the latch with the thumb knob in the proper position, then get it hooked on the string...which sounds easy but was definitely not as easy as it should be. The mechanism kept moving so it wouldn't go on and then when it did get on the string you had to be super careful to make sure it locked into place because it would look locked in and the thumb knob would go into the lock position, but the clasp wasn't actually securely locked...resulting in the string prematurely releasing. Other times it would lock on and not release when we hit the thumb knob to shoot. All in all we considered it very unsafe and unpredictable and returned it. There are far easier thumb releases to use out there, we will go with one of those.
