Perfect for my purposes!
I needed an external drive for a tablet. Contrary to what another reviewer experienced, I had no trouble at all using it to install software. I've also used it to play music. Couldn't do better at such a reasonable price. :-)

Worked for what I needed it for
Needed an external drive to boot from a OS disk. This worked like a champ. Nothing spectacular, it just does what you paid for it to do. I like that in a product.

Plays music CDs but nothing else
Its only plays music and NO DVDs!!!! I got this to install software on a ultrabook with no internal drive, with a DVD. It spins and doesn't read. I tried to play a lion king DVD...no go. All my music CDs read...nothing else.
