Many spiritual books say meaningful things, but often they are boring to read, or too technical or flowery. Father Leen's writing style is elevated but not difficult. Every paragraph, every sentence is dense with profound spiritual insights, and he uses images the average person can understand.

A wonderful book. Answers all the questions you need to know about why we suffer on earth & how to use suffering as a means to get to heaven.

I had a very hard understanding why the death of Jesus on the cross was redeeming me, not that I did not believe but I did it out of faith. This book explained it in very clear language. I was like St. Thomas. Now I understand why I believe it. Have read books on the subject but I always felt that I was "asked" to believe, This one "made" me believe.

I am glad that I was able to get this book by Fr. Edward Leen. He is one of my favorite Catholic authors. His books are getting harder to find. Thak you!

Love it. So much truth. Have you ever gotten a book that you even like the highlighting in? Edward Leen writes "The Church undertakes to change man, not systems. She knows that if men become what they ought, systems will become what they should." If this isn't applicable today I don't know what is.I have not finished the book but can see if Catholics would strive to follow Christ and His Church by carrying our cross daily and following Christ, one finds the love and peace one yearns for. The peace and love the world says does not exist. Don't play by the world's rules read Leen's words on the Tree of Life and Tree of Death or just follow the narrow path.
