Snoozer Orthopedic Cozy Cave Pet Bed, X-Large, Khaki

We ordered this second Snoozer to have an extra one when my daughter brought her dog to our house. Our dog and hers are the same size so we ordered the identical one - same size, same color or, but not the same quality as the first even though the price was the same. Older one - two years ago we bought it - had an zip out pillow shell made of the same material as the inside of the covering of the dog cave - it was easy to pull the pillow out of shell and wash it. This new one has a foam insert tht your got to force onto the zip up pillow shell - pain in the butt. Then you have to push another pillow insert into the shell and position it -- another big pain. In addition, the inner lining of the pillow shell is material that is not the same as the inner lining of the outer part of the bed. This product at the same price is far inferior to the one we bought two years ago. Sorry to say, but there will never be another "Snoozer". Prime example as to how a manufacturer tries to dig every dollar out of a product and kills its quality and eventually its sales. Very disappointed.

I don’t usually spend this amount of time on a product review, however this is an important product in our home! This our third set of ”clam-Snoozer” beds to purchase through the years. We still have the old ones, but our dogs love them so much, that we like having a set in the bedroom and in my art studio also. Our guys are getting older, so this is our first time to buy the orthopedic, memory foam Snoozer. Honestly, I wish we had spent the money earlier on the orthopedic, because I think the mattress will hold its shape much better for a longer period of time. The company has made design improvements, each time we buy a new bed. The exterior of the bed is durably made and holds up very well. To save money in the past, I bought another brand and it lasted only a few months. Each Snozzer bed comes with two mattresses. The fluffy, top mattress and the orthopedic. Our dogs prefer the full-fluff of both mattresses, because they know and love the bed. If you have never had a claim-bed, you can leave out the fluff until you dogs adjusts to crawling into the bed. I love that they can choose to sleep on the top of the bed, if it is warm or inside if it is cool! This bed is easily dismantled to wash, however be aware that the memory foam is quite heavy and can make it difficult to handle for a single with back issues. Otherwise, you can’t go wrong with this bed! Durable and top quality!

I’ve been getting the “Cozy Cave” beds for my dogs for years now, and have been really happy with them for the most part. My dogs just love them. Since Cozy Cave partnered with Snoozer, the quality has definitely gone down. I bought the orthopedic bed last February, and it’s falling apart! The seams in the channel that holds the plastic tube keeping the cover open are unraveling. Trying to remove and take out the ortho pad from the cover is a nightmare. The previous beds I’ve had made it much easier to remove the pads to wash the cover. Really disappointed.

I have bought 2 of these, one for my dog and one for a friend's dog. It doesn't look as poofy as the bed in the picture even when you first take it out of the box. My dog was hesitant to try it, but once he did, he was rolling around in it like it was a toy. Throw some treats in the back of the bed to get your dog to try it. initially. You may find your dog lying on the top more than inside. To be fair, this bed is really warm inside so reserve your opinion about whether your dog likes it until the winter months.PROS:-It is very comfortable and and the shell seems to be made of quality material-If your dog is a burrower, this is the bed for youCONS:-The inside of the bed does shed a bit-It's expensive-It looks like the inside non-foam filler material will degrade over time-The top stiff ridge that should hold up the opening, is pretty ineffective and collapses easily.I would only recommend this is you are positive that your dog loves burrowing. If you aren't sure, there are so many other beds on Amazon that will be cheaper.

I bought this because my dog has short hair (South African Boerboel) and I would put a blanket on her in winter, but every time it fell off, she would wake me up (turning or sighing etc). She was cold and I was frustrated. This is the BEST and amazing solution! At first she wasn't sure, and thought it was a toy, but as I had done crate training her as a puppy, I put her toys inside and she quickly caught on. Because she's so big (100lbs, got the XL), I still had to lift up the arch, but she loved snuggling up and snoozing in there during the cold months. Now that it is summer (bought 6 months prior to this review and having given it a full test), she still uses it and prefers it, she just sleeps on top and I removed the tube that holds the structure of the arch (will put back in when fall comes around). The Ortho cushion is superior to any others we've tried in 8 years. Highly recommend this bed! So easy to wash and once you get the hang of how it works (line up the stitching with the base of the pad, and shove!) it is very easy to put back the pads back in. Very happy with this purchase, because the dog has been thrilled with it!

Our miniature dachshunds love their Cozy Caves. Definitely get the "orthopedic" variety! It is more stable on the ground and has much higher quality foam stuffing. Ask for it specifically. Size SMALL is good for 1 miniature or tweenie dachshund.

This is a nice bed, well made but the hoop that holds the top up is too short (on an XL ~ 14 inches from the floor & ~ seven inches from the top of the bed). I originally ordered a large bed and this was the correct size for my dog (~ 75lb Treeing Walker Hound, I did not make any hoop height measurements from the large one) but she had a really difficult time getting into the large size bed. She got her head in but could not push it up enough to get completely inside without help. She ended up flinging it around some and walking with it on her head and then just laying on top of it and crying in frustration. She had a similar bed in the past and knows how they work. I returned the large for an XL. She can get in that one but it is significantly bigger / takes up a ton of space in my house and for some reason she doesn't seem to like it as much.

This is the perfect product for a dog who needs to be snuggled. I always used to feel bad leaving my boy downstairs as I knew that he would get up, lose his blanket and then not be able to tuck himself back in. I know, i’m a big softy and so is he. But he took to this bed instantly and loves it!

finally! a decent night's sleep. our dogs love these beds. We bought X-large, and they are larger than needed, but the Viszlas are happy, so we are too.

So I bought this because my yorkie sleeps in the closet by the front door when I’m at work and it broke my heart watching her bunker down on her substandard dog bed. She loves to tunnel and burrow so I thought Wow this bed is PERFECT! Now I don’t have to feel so guilty when I leave because ive just paid more for a place for her to lay down then I would for me to lay down. Big mistake. It started slowly. I would wake up and not feel her furry body crammed up against me. I made excuses like “maybe she got up to use the bathroom” or “maybe it’s too hot”. Then she would come up and say goodnight and leave, not even bothered about my hurt feelings. And finally the coup de gras, last night, she didn’t even lift her head as I made my sad lonely journey to bed. So if you want a heart breaking story like mine, Go ahead and purchase, but don’t say I didn’t warn you

Okay we have two dachshund, one mini and one tweenie. Our mini is a bit overweight but on a diet. They weigh 13 pounds each. They took to the bed immediately. When they are both in there you can fit at least one more dachshund in it. We bought the large red one. This bed is so very perfect and very well made. The hood does lift a bit but my 2 like to go in deep. I did find the button hole to remove the plastic tube before you wash the bed. It's not easy to find but it is there on the white rim near the left hand side when your looking straight on the bed. This bed is also the orthopedic type. It took about a day for it to conform to the circle. It looks terrific in the living room as we have red pieces here and there. The bed is a very rich candy apple red. If you are looking for a real good bed, this is diffinately the best choice. Thanks to Snoozer for a great product.

The inside is very fluffy, but in a structureless way. Doggo seems to have trouble finding a comfy position as the whole thing will sort of lean. He doesn't seem to know how to get inside of it on his own but that's his own problem hahah. Glad to hear from another reviewer that an extra large costco dog bed will fit inside it, so we will probably go that route as well.
