You pay to get what you get for?
First, consider the price.......think about it........keeping thinking..........pretty cheap huh? Though I made a comment to my girlfriend when I first took it out of the box about how the bottom is not actually bamboo and more like "bamboo" I wasn't about to go on an amazon review tirade throwing the single star etc etc...When you consider the price, the tray is just fine. If you need to really budget your serving tray funds then you can't expect 100% bamboo. I've been saying this my whole life pretty much since pre-school....However for my actual serving tray budget I would go more for the $35 and up range. I mean having a serving tray is all about wowing guests and making them envy your belongings among other things. When guests are not occupying my living space I typically just carrying multiple items to and fro by pulling up on the bottom of my shirt to make a little carrying hammock or just toss closed items from the kitchen onto the couch in the living room....BUT I didn't buy this for wowing guests! I bought this for an alternative use, to be a pedal board for my guitar amp setup (photo attached). Which if you plan to do so as I did, you will need to do some minor mods to beef it up to hold up to some abuse. I added some corner brackets and a center support under the middle and then some feet, good to go......Sidenote: I saw some reviews griping about the bottom fitting in loosely. If your buying this and you currently have bottle of wood glue in your house (or even elmers glue) then just run a bead of glue around the bottom edge where the bottom goes into the sides then wipe the glue further into the crack with a damp paper towel, let dry and you'll find the whole tray becomes MUCH sturdier.....just dont show your guests the bottom side of the tray, they may take closer inspection and note the glue.....and you don't want them noting the glue....

Good craftmanship and build from tenacious material!
This is the 1st tray I've ever bought in my 48 years. My old faithful. Coca Cola tray finally rusted through. And to my horror got through in the trash. It was used since the 1930's in my family. And died on my watch. So I took to Amazon to find its successor and since you'll never find a metal tray built like they built stuff in the '20's and 30's I figured I would try a Bamboo tray. Not just because there very affordable, but because I had to clear 3 acres of Bamboo with a machete that my grandfather brought a single chute back from Asia in WWII and it turned into acres of the toughest, strongest natural material I've ever dealt with in my life! And this tray has been crafted from that very material that I spent 6 months clearing 5 acres in 2003 but now in 2017 occupies over 11 acres. Don't judge this trays low price with being build shoddy or flimsy, if you do them you don't know Bamboo. I imagine if taken care of this tray may make it 80+ years like my very missed steel Coca Cola tray, but just like steel, bamboo will eventually rot away if used every night, but for under $15 if it last just 25yrs how could you go wrong?

Basic much
As basic as it gets. Got something better and a set that works better for my kitchen so returned this before using.

Perfect Tray!
I take breakfast, lunch and dinner down a flight of stairs and then the empty dishes back up the stairs every single day. This tray is so much lighter than the large plastic tray I was using. I'm able to balance it and open the door to the stairs and most times close the door behind me. In between meals, it looks very attractive on the dining room table. The bamboo is an added plus.... I just love it!

Not as sturdy as I wanted
Nice size, lightweight but could be sturdier.

Simple and lightweight.
Nice, simple, lightweight tray. Bought these two fit on top of a side table and they fit just right with a little play. My only complaint is the quality of the wood on one of the trays has a noticeable lack of bamboo shall we say. Looks like a piece was ripped out.

Nice tray for the price
The negative reviews had me wondering - but this tray is OK for the price. The flat part does not appear to be bamboo but a film/laminate over who-knows-what but it is sturdy and not flimsy for its intended purpose, and the sides and handles do appear to be bamboo. I'm not going to be hauling rocks with it, I think it'll hold up well. If it doesn't I'll update the review!

it works
as has been noted by other reviewers, the bottom of this tray is NOT bamboo but more like a paper press board with a bamboo pattern printed on it. The sides ARE solid bamboo. I would avoid getting any liquid on the bottom, as I am sure it will not take much to ruin it. Other than that it is what I was looking for. It is just the right size to transport my daily tea up to my desk. (4 cup tea pot, cup and saucer, and sugar bowl and spoon)

Not 100% bamboo. Doesn't feel sturdy.
The frame is bamboo but the bottom is faux bamboo particle board. Feels pretty flimsy. This tray would be fine if it's just sitting on a counter, but I wouldn't recommend carrying much on it. Mine came with some glue stuck to it that I had to scrape off, and it wasn't easy.

Cheap
Very cheap and flimsy product. Exposed glue on the seams and grain is rough in some places.

Well made and sturdy but smaller then I thought

Cheaply Made
Materials are cheap and assembly seemed slapdash with very little glue used to secure sides. Right side detached during 2nd use, then the rest! Not worth the price.
