Buyer beware. Amazon will still from you.
This is not a review of this movie but rather a cry for help. Amazon's customer support Rep, Tyler, told me to send email to [email protected] after an hour with other customer service reps on Sat 19-Jun-2020 (and after multiple calls on previous occasions) to address the issue of movies disappearing from the account but the email I sent was immediately returned back by the system's automatic email feature saying it was not an address that receives emails!!!!! Also, Tyler was supposed to email me after our call ended and he never did. He lied in multiple occasions. Amazon does not want to fix the issue. Why would they? They charge you money and then remove the movies from your library. Is a brilliant way to steal money from innocent parents. I have lost many movies on multiple occasions (Curious George, Lion King, Jungle Book, The good dinosaur, and last night Bolt). Their excuse for last night's debacle was that I rented the movie back in 2017 and somehow had access to it last night!!!! The previous lady that helped me, Brandi, sent an email with a cloud website to retrieve my movies. She said she could see all the movies I mentioned that was missing but when I accessed the cloud site I still had no access to my movies. At least she followed up with the email when Tyler didn't but neither was able to help me. They are just condescending agents that keep saying "I'm sorry". Buyer beware. Amazon will still from you.

We Love This Movie Because of Rico
The rating for this movie is based mostly on the views of my kiddos, though I've seen it so many times at this point, some of the lines have totally invaded our household culture, like "you are a meaningful and valued member of this team."First, it was my daughter's favorite movie. Then my son began liking it, and he requested it so much, she said he ruined it for her, and now she won't watch it, but he still loves it. I think he loves it because of Rico, really. My son is non-verbal, he is starting to do a little bit of word approximations, but not very much. And I think he really loves that there is a movie character that has some similarities to him. And as a mama, I am always pleased to support a movie that embraces a character special needs kiddos can relate to.Otherwise, there's a whole lot of cheese in this movie, and not just because of the "cheesy dibbles" that are so coveted by the penguins. I'm guessing the writers had a whole lot of fun with parts of it, especially finding ways to make actors names out of names plus commands that the villain calls out to his own team. And there was a whole lot of buried and not so buried political and social commentary one could take out of this one, so I think probably grown ups could manage to giggle their way through it as well.

Love the penguins and their multiple guests
If you haven't viewed Penguins yet, do so. If you didn't know better, you'd be excused for writing this off as childrens' fare. Instead, the humor here is actually quite brilliant and sophisticated.I have to admit that the lushness of the drawing and animation plus the high production values probably also color my opinion.Their villains are particularly and deliciously villainous as well. The writing is brilliant; the acting is brilliant; the plots are almost always brilliant. Special mention to the crazy girl badger who latches onto other animals to the point of stalking, then loses her mind if you tell her "don't badger me" LoL. It's a small part; I never saw her again after that one episode, but it typifies the brilliance of each little gem in this series. If you're having a bad day, watch an episode of Penguins; it'll do you a world of goodFor me, it's always a treat to watch Penguins

Too advanced for toddlers, fun for the parents
It seems that lately all animation movies I watch follow a similar pattern: very, very fast pace and tons of gags that I am not sure if they target the parents and the kids. If you have watched The Lego Movie or Hotel Transylvania 2 , you will understand what I mean.Penguins of Madagascar follows the adventures of these commando-like penguins to stop an evil octopus who is jealous of penguins cuteness. The movie is very funny, and both my wife and I enjoyed it a lot. My four year old, however, had trouble to understand the plot and lost interest after 50 minutes. We will try to play him again in a few years, when he might be able to understand a little better the plot and the jokes. As for the animation, it is very good quality, with cute animals and nice action scenes. The penguins are the most interesting characters in the movie. The movie also introduces the North Wind, and elite commando with a Wold, a Polar Bear, an Owl and a Seal. I found the characters in the North Wind are not really relevant and barely developed in the movie, which I think it was a missed opportunity to introduce a little variety.Overall, I loved this movie. If you have liked the penguins humor in the previous Madagascar movies, you will love this spin-off. Otherwise, this will probably be a saturating movie which is also not great for small kids.

A movie for all adult children that blame the kids for wanting to buy it....
This was another one of those mysterious, "no longer available" products that are available but at a higher price. After cancelling the last order due to there being no estimated date for new stock, I reordered, at a higher price and got it the next day. Penguins of Madagaska is one of the decades best animated movies and is amazing in 3D. This is a movie for all adult children that want to pretend they bought it for the kids as adults are more likely to watch it again and again... whereas kids tend to get bored after seeing a movie for the 2nd time. This is a movie that I highly recommend for it's entertainment value and it comes at a good price. If you have a 3D TV, get it in 3D, if you have 4K (UHD) then get the Blueray (4K) version. This movie is well worth the money.

Cute penguin fun for all the family
Our toddler loves penguins so we let him watch some clips of this on YouTube. He loved it so much and it looked interesting so we decided to buy it so we could see the whole film. The whole family enjoyed it. The penguins are so funny, this film was sooooo much better than Madagascar. Was suprised and delighted to hear Benedict Cumberbatch and John Malkovich amoung the voice talent. There are jokes for adults as well as children and loveable characters too.

Great fun, but lacks something?
Yes the film was good and at times funny? However, it did not have the same level of fun and jokes andenjoyment as the Madagascar films where the Penguins 1st were seen?

One of my favourite animated movies
I love this film. Can't decide whether its a cult hit or not as don't know that many people who love it as much as I do, but my kids love it and I can't resist a good pun. Kevin....bake on!
