Chalk line
These Tajima chalk lines are my favorite so far. I've been in this trade over 25 yrs. I ordered the 0.5mm line and it is perfect. I like a nice thin crisp line. It has quality qears and winds up fast with a sturdy locking mechanism. I've been using these Tajima chalk lines for the past 10 hrs and I'll never buy another brand again. Highly recommend the 0.5mm line with the metal case.

Clean crisp lines, smooth reel. I purchased the model with the thin cord and I’ll never go back. Makes lining up cuts super easy and accurate.

Pretty decent line
I have heard guys rave about the Tajima chalk lines so I thought I would give it a try. I also got their chalk line dye. It snaps a pretty decent line, but I wasn't really blown away by it. It is a lot better than others as far as chalk ending up all over the place. I got the ultra thin line because I wanted it for finish work. I do like the thin line that it leaves, but one thing I didn't think of was how difficult it is to pick up the line to snap it! Because the line is so small, you need fingernails to pick it up off the material. I'm also not a fan of how you have to unscrew the top to load chalk. I have a co-worker that got this same chalk box and both of us have commented on how it doesn't reel in very smoothly. Overall, this chalk box snaps a decent line with very little mess, but I don't know if it is really worth the price.

Finally! A chalk box that performs!
I think I have tried them all. They all waste a lot of chalk at the line orifice. This one doesn’t. The stretchy thin line takes some getting used to. But once it is mastered, there is no going back.
