thoughts on meow if it's murder
This is a fun mystery. I love Daniel and the cat Nick. Nora was a hoot too but the cat took the spotlight. Nora moved back home after her mom died to take over her mom’s specialty sandwich restaurant. While there some mysterious disappearances and deaths take place. This gets Nora’s sleuthing talents itching. So she sneaks around to find things out. Along the way a PI’s cat who was once named Sherlock ends up with her because he suddenly disappears. The cat helps her find clues and listens to her theories and even lets her know what he thinks. So fun there. Also in the picture is the mysterious detective Daniel. Daniel who likes Nora and who Nora likes as well. But the case keeps them from acting on that. Oh and Nora’s constant interference in the case. We also have Chantal the psychic jeweler who is now making collar for cats for her website to sell who sees danger in Nora’s future. Comes to find out Chantal is right, the mystery links to something Nora never thought it would and she hoped she wouldn’t see again and Daniel will be in her future. The writing is lighthearted and creates a fun easygoing atmosphere where you can sit back and be entertained by Nick the cat and Nora with their adventures. So much fun rolled into a mystery it will have you smile the whole way and definitely root for Daniel and Nora to come together. But seriously the cat takes the show and runs with it. He will have you love him from the moment he enters the pages. I look forward to seeing in the series the sleuthing of Nick and Nora and the blossoming of romance between Daniel and Nora as well. A great first book in the series to gain readers for years to come in this fun tale of murder, friendship, mystery and love.

An extremely enjoyable read!! You will LOVE this one!!
I kept seeing this book on others bloggers sites--I don't remember exactly when I decided to actually just purchase it instead of trying to win it--but that is what I did! I have a soft spot in my heart for all animals and I truly do love reading cozy murder mysteries every once in a while. What really got me was that this cat (Nick) adopted Nora. I had a cat do that to me as well. I felt something surrounding my ankles in the lobby of the building I used to live in--looked down and there was this cat. To make a longish story short I walked to the supt's apartment and asked if he knew the owner--the supt's wife bent down and was petting said cat but when the cat tried to walk in--no way! So I looked down at him and asked if he would like to stay with me--we crossed the hall and the rest was history! I named him Gremlin and he is now over the rainbow bridge and I have since been adopted by a female cat who came to me with the name Baby----I sometimes get the feeling those two names should have been switched!!Okay-now that I got that out of the way--I LOVED this book!! Nick is one of the smartest cats going--he can even spell words with a scrabble set (his ex owner who is among the missing) taught him. He is also portrayed as being kind of psychic--which is a very good thing cause Nora can get herself in more trouble and murder and mayhem abound. Of course you know there has to be a kooky friend and a drop dead gorgeous police type person --Even though she now owns a sandwich bar, which she inherited from her Mom, she can't seem to stop being a crime investigator reporter. Poor Nick has his paws full!!I think it took me a total of 3 hours to finish this very enjoyable book and I am certainly looking forward to reading any others from this series as they come out.

quick ..get me that cat dictionary!
Meow It's Murder is a delightful first in a 3 series. This book which takes place in Cruz a, a town in California is such a meaty whodunit I enjoyed it very much. And it didn't hurt to add a cat named Nick who appears on the doorstep of a potential owner Nora Charles. That was delightful. Nora has moved from ChiTown to the West Coast to take over her late Mother's sandwich shop..which features very cleverly named sandwiches that does daily and event services for the area. Nora and her BFF, Chantal a resident psychic are quite a pair, with Chantal urging her friend to take on Nick, aka Sherlock, a tuxedo ball of fur with great talents yet to be discovered. Might I also say that prior to her culinary offerings, Nora was a former investigative reporter. There are unsolved murders that whet the appetite, good looking law enforcement and a sprinkle of offerings from Chicago with pasts that are added into the mix. This is a wonderful whodunit and I recommend this first edition heartily and have already ordered the next two installments..I do have plenty of books to read but alas, looks like I will have to wait until 2017 for #4.

I Loved Nick the Cat
The main character, Nora Charles, was an investigative reporter in Chicago. She gives up reporting after her mother's death and returns to her hometown to take over her mother's sandwich shop. I think the more interesting character is Nick, a stray cat with a definate personality who appears to be smarter that the humans around him. Nora and Nick become involved in solving a murder which had previously been classified as an accident. This was the first in a new series and although the overall premises is clever the "mystery" was a little too predicitable. The story bogs down with Nora's inability to think clearly around the "hunky" male character. Also, because she doesn't wish to look foolish in front of him or have him ignore her she takes some really stupid risks (which I found sort of unbelievable is she had really been a successful crime reporter). I would probably class this book as a cozy because it was too predictable for me to class as a mystery (don't get me wrong, I love cozy mysteries but I also like straight mysteries). This has the potential to be a good series so I will try at least one more book in this series to see if there is some more character development in both the main and secondary characters.

A cat mystery on which to pounce
This is Princess Fuzzypants and I am doing the review. I am a literate Maine Coon who loves to read cat mysteries with my mom. What makes a really good cat mystery? Simple, a really strong and well written feline hero or heroine. Think of Hamlet, Diesel, Midnight Louie, Mrs. Murphy, Boris or Joe Grey to name a few. These names will be familiar to you if you are a fan of the genre. Each has some special characteristic besides their natural feline superiority. They are smart, they are savvy and they help solve mysteries.Nick, who adopts Nora Charles when his previous human disappears, is one such kitty. While he does not speak, he is quite fluent with the Scrabble tiles and he saves Nora's bacon more than once. She's more than ok as well (for a human) but it is Nick that will get all the kitty hearts a-purring. Those, like my mom, who love cat mysteries will fall for him too.If you are a fan of the old Thin Man series, the names Nick and Nora Charles will bring back memories. While this Nora is no Myrna Loy and Nick is no William Powell, they will entertain you in a well paced and highly entertaining first book of the series. There is a lot less champagne served but it is still quite bubbly.I give it two paws up and five purrs. We await the next installment to pounce upon.
