STAEDTLER3001 TB18 Double Ended Watercolour Brush Pens, Assorted Colour, Pack of 18

Wanted to try water colour but not confident to try the actual paint, seen these and liked the thought. Drew my rabbits, coloured them then watered them to affect above. Happy with outcome but might try water first then colours to see how it comes out.

These are useful for sketching on the move. A good selection of colours and the dual tips work really well. Colours blend with water. Good value.

I have just bought my second pack from Amazon. You can colour on a mat to blend colours, spritz and swoosh card or watercolour paper through. You can colour direct on suitable paper, even in the lines or through a stencil as one end is so fine, and wash the colour out. You can colour again on top when a wash is dry or lay down wet layers to get different effects. You can colour onto wet paper, probably more easily than with watercolour pencils as the brush nib is so soft, so will not go through leaving a hole like pencils can, if you're not careful. They are broader than pencils, so easier to hold, if you have arthritis. There's a good mix of colours and they blend well to make many more. There's enough pigment for colours to stay true. They last well and I've used them a lot.

Great quality, lovely colours

These are great budget pens. You get a nice variety of colours, both bright and more muted. The ends are very good - the fine end gives a narrow stable line, and the brush end gives a good variation in thickness and quality, much like a real brush. You can smudge out and mix the colours with water on the paper if you want, also use waxy pencils as a resist. There is no info so I assume they are not lightfast, but for playing around with ideas in a sketchbook or encouraging beginners to draw, they are ideal.

Very good pens, don't dry out like other brands do

I went for these brush pens because of the brand, Staedtler. I have purchased many of their products over the years and never been disappointed. This is the first time I have been disappointed, I find the build quality poor for the brand, the colours do not always match the pen lid (beige comes out as dark brown?!). Luckily they were reduced heavily when I bought them but they do seem quite knock off.I had planned to use them for brush calligraphy, they’ll do for practice but I’ll have to find better quality pens.

I've used may mediums over the years and was so excited to try these after mastering watercolor pencils. The watercolor markers work like regular markers but adding a tiny bit of water allows the ink to blur and bleed, creating a beautiful watercolor effect. I recommend getting a water brush pen in conjunction. I save a lot of money making my own greeting cards!

Great colors with several different greens and blues and reds pinks. A thicker tip and a pen like tip. Variety. Have ordered this twice already.
