Good buy!
Fantastic cup! A shade over 5 ounces, double wall construction keeps the inside HOT (with a cover bought separately I would assume hours of heat at temperature) with an outside that stays relatively cool to the touch. I had 200 degree coffee inside and could hold from the outside of the cup without using the handle without any inconvenience.Suggested use would probably be ultralight camping, though I'm using it for a breakfast coffee mug. May buy another one for work. Paid slightly more than half through warehouse deals, and it seems like a bargain for how good of a cup this is. Probably overkill for most people, but I enjoy hot coffee and the light weight nature of the cup. Worth the money.

High quality, well constructed tool!
I have been using my Snow Peak 450 ML double wall titanium mug daily for over a year. I travel with it strapped to my backpack hanging from the handles. I use all my tools hard and even after banging in to things constantly, getting dropped, and generally abused the mug is still completely functional and much to my disappointment shows little signs of wear. This is an EXCELLENT product that is well made and is priced accordingly. I just purchased another as a gift for a friend and highly suggest this to anyone interested in a high quality, simple, and effective tool.

It's a really good cup
First off, it's a cup - albeit a really expensive cup. Like most long time backpackers, I too lusted for this silly item but couldn't justify the cost. I mean after all it's a cup; my wife did threaten to hit me in the head with it if I even so much as thought about spending 50.00 for an "ugly metal cup" So, being smart and meek - i buy a less expensive alternative made of plastic. Fast forward on my last backpacking trip, using what I thought to be a good purchase turned out to a cold cup of coffee - I thought to myself this sucks, fifteen bucks for crap. I decided *(&^ I am going to spend the dam money on the cup.Well, i get the cup. Couldn't wait to try it, using it now for the morning wake up call. Of course wife has the evil eye on me "you had to get that dam cup didn't you blah blah - something to the effect you waste money blah blah - mother was right - Oh shut up"All I can say, cup works great. Light weight, and holds the heat. Think I'll use it as my everyday cup. Best "waste of money" to date.

Like Drinking Champagne From Fine Crystal
IF you backpack a lot and IF having a hot cup of coffee or tea is a real important part of your morning on the trail then you won't find a better mug anywhere. It's worth the price. Stuff comes up around camp and it's awesome to be able to walk away and not be worried about your coffee getting cold or wasting gas to reheat it.The only downside to something like a collapsible cup is the space it takes. But just stuff it with something and you're good to go.

Bought it. Loved it. Never looked back.
I mainly just use this for coffee at the office (its geek factor is huge!). I've been using it for about 6 months and the only thing that has happened is a tiny little dent in the bottom where I dropped it on the floor (while empty, thank you very much). The handles still work great. It cleans up perfectly. And, it's titanium! This coffee mug dominates other mugs at the office.

Don't believe the hype
This is a nice mug. It feels pleasant in the hand and its not too shabby to drink from. Its solid titanium and I guess its pretty light and durable (as long as you don't mind scratches and dents- I don't) but truthfully the insulation properties are weak at best. I haven't done any tests but I have a sneaking suspicion that cheap plastic and foam mugs, the type you can purchase at Walmart or a gas station end up being just a little heavier and much more efficient insulators. I didn't realize before I purchased this mug that it is double-walled, but NOT a vacuum mug. I own a couple of medium capacity vacuum thermos-style bottles that cost half the price of this mug which absolutely blow it away performance wise. To the Snow Peak's advantage though the titanium alloy is uncoated and presumably BPA and chemical free.I'm not sore about my purchase, and I don't blame Snow Peak or any vendors but the people who rave about this mug being the "ultimate" the "end-all" , "best" or any other such superlative haven't drank out of many mugs or they are just deluding themselves. When you pour boiling water into this mug to make coffee, tea etc. the outer skin of the mug becomes so hot its very uncomfortable to touch. Not blistering hot, but uncomfortably hot. The good and bad news is it cools down quick thanks to the thermal conductive properties of the mug, but then so does your beverage. Is it better than a metal alloy single wall mug? Of course it is. Is it better than any of my stainless steel double-wall vacuum bottles? (no-lid performance) No way, not even close.Another quibble, for $45 or the crazy $60 dollars you see some people charging for this mug the sip-top plastic lid should be included. What a rip-off selling it separately. In the mug's defense it should serve me really well for the purpose which I purchased it: lightweight back-packing and outdoor travel pursuits. If it only ends up on the desk of your office cubicle the unpolished titanium does exude a very hard-core mountaineer type of charisma. Any slob can buy a Nalgene bottle at Walmart, but not one of these over-priced coffee crucibles. You've been warned. Indulge your inner poser, pinnacle-consumer, or backpacker at your wallet's peril.
