Functions perfectly - the actuator is correct, and the tapered upper and lower fit the chair and base. The only difference between this and the stock cylinder is that the narrow base section below the taper that fits into the chair base is a couple mm wider and doesn't quite fit though the hole in the chair base. However, in my chair at least, there is a lip inside that hole that is just the size of the base of the replacement cylinder. I was able to cut out the lip with a hole saw (you could also use a dremel, file, or even sandpaper) and the new cylinder fit perfectly.

I'm a big guy, so was concerned about getting an non-OEM part for my mirror chair. (OEM part lasted 12 years and 1 month, which is 1 month past the warrenty). However, this part installed fine and has supported me well so far.

I bought this for a Herman Miller Embody chair and it is very high quality and fit perfectly. It works every bit as good as the original cylinder (by the way the original is an SHS/Samhongsa unit - Herman Miller does NOT make their own cylinders). Got it in 2 days with Amazon prime and had it installed shortly - chair fixed completely with no sag.

Used it to replace sinking gas cylinder in Herman Miller Mira. Works like a charm!

Installed easily once the old cylinder was removed.
