I am a 72 yr., old 5 foot, 106 lb. great grandma. I have always been a D.I.Y. person, but size, age, and health have slowed me down and I figured adding a couple of rooms onto my home was a bit more of a challenge than I was up for so I hired a contractor to add a couple of rooms onto my single wide mobile home, (a 3 week job they said.) After 3 months they finally had the support pillars in and sub floor down and started on the framing. Then they told me it was taking longer then they planned so it would be almost double the labor they had quoted me. I let them go and hired another contractor to do the wiring and sheet rock. They insisted on working for an hourly wage and said the 4 of them would have the job done in under 2 weeks. Well, 10 weeks later I'd had enough, I sent them on their way and decided to complete the task myself. The moral of this story is, IF you want a job done to your specifications, D.I.Y. is often the best. After 9 months of construction I'm finally ready to add the finishing touches, like hardware and such. My new back door of now off the master bedroom so I wanted a very heavy duty lock system. After much research I came across The Berlin Modisch set. It is very well made, feels heavy and secure, and has a nice sleek appearance. I like the square look, gives it a modern look. Getting it in straight can be a bit of a challenge, but with a little patience you will be rewarded. It feels very solid and secure on my back door. I've purchased a second set to install on my patio door.

We bought 3 deadbolt lever set and another lock lever, for a total of 7 locks. We have been using these locks since 2/20/2022 (just 1.5 months from this review), and 2 of the 7 locks already had issues.1) Deadbolt just failed yesterday and it was coming out from the door. We took it apart and realized that the internal mechanism has a length adjuster to accommodate different distances from the lock hole to the edge of the door. The latch on the length adjuster was no longer latching, so when we turn to lock the door, it was actually extending the interior, as a result, pushing the lock OUT of the door. This is such a design flaw because we noticed it when the door was a quarter-inch out from the edge of the door. We almost couldn't remove the deadbolt from the lock because there's a piece on the deadbolt that became misaligned.2) Lever screw came out entirely. When we took it apart it was because the female end of the screw from the exterior part of the lock came apart from the lock itself, so the screw took the female receiver with it. We were able to screw the female part back onto the lock itself, but unsure if it will come off again.On the bright side, both my husband and I are fairly handy and are able to take these apart to diagnose, but for people who are less able to do so for whatever reason, these locks will just fail on you. We have installed other locks in the past in our previous property and never had a single issue. Having 2 out of 7 locks fail in less than 2 months is a clear indication of poor quality.

These door handles had solid construction with great weight, movement, and build quality. These seem nicer than a couple of the standard big name brands and at least as long as I'm purchasing non-keyed units I would buy these again hands down. The matte black finish is a very nice look in a modern, transitional, or traditional setting in my opinion.The square rosette is typically a higher cost option from other locks and it looks great. One thing to keep in mind though is that portions of the rosette likely won't cover where a round one may have so you could end up with small unpainted or blemished door showing. With that in mind some door finishing may be necessary, but, in my mind completely worth it.

Arrived fast, easy to install, works perfectly!Update: Purchased another entryway door knob (with lock and key) for door that goes into laundry room from garage and like the first, it looks great. It is sturdy, it doesn't wobble like our old door knob did and the lever style is easier to open when arms/hands are full of groceried.The price is really affordable, so we will be purchasing more for all of the other doors in my house. One other note...it does not smell! Our old door knob smelled like metal and whenever you would open door you would have to go wash your hands Several Times to get the strong metal smell off of your hands. So, yes, this new door knob is awesome, we love it, it does not stink, really good price, fast delivery. We definitely recommend. You need to get this door knob!
