I thought that I was ordering my normal width tape, but I didn't read the order carefully.That said, I think I am really going to like the width and use it for many more things than I do with the wider 2 sided tape.

I purchased this product specifically to adhere my smaller matted pastel paintings (ACEO & 5x7" originals) to the backing boards (that is, I am not using the tape directly on the artwork, but from mat board to backing board), and it is exactly what I was looking for.The tape tears easily, and is easy to position with the white strip intact. I use my thumbnail to smooth down the edges, and once all 4-6 pieces of tape (I use sections that are about 1.5"/3cm in length) are in place on the face-down mat board, I carefully use the edge of my fingernail to lift up the edge of the backing strip and peel it off. In my experience, it comes off easily.Be advised: once you place these down, and/or have both surfaces adhered, they aren't adjustable, and will pull off a layer of mat or backing board if you do have to separate them (ask me how I know...). So, take your time and make sure whatever you are planning to adhere together is properly positioned, and you are good to go.I'm very confident that these will not lose their adhesive power for my use. Because of its adhesive power, I personally would not use it directly on matted or framed artwork (I use acid-free framer's tape for securing artwork to the mat board), but if I were doing a collage, for example, and wanted tape instead of glue, this would be the product I'd use.I wouldn't rely on them to hold anything to a wall where gravity will be at play - there are adhesive tapes that are specifically designed for that purpose. This tape is EXCELLENT for any artist/crafter looking for an easy-to-apply, small profile double-sided tape. The roll is a great value, and will last me a LONG time. That being said, I'd definitely purchase again once I run out.

The product just arrived last night & I tried it out immediately. I'm working on a handmade keepsake box, and I ran out of the double sided tape I'd been using. Comparing this to the tape I had been using: 1) This tape is easy to tear with my bare hands, making it easy to use; the tape I had been using had a vinyl-type liner, which means I had to pick up my scissors every time I used it. When making crafts, I often need both of my hands to hold the object, so using scissors is very awkward. I really like being able to tear the tape with my hands. 2) This holds just as well as the more expensive tape I had been using. A good, solid hold is important. 3) It is true to size. I once bought some double-sided tape that wasn't as wide as I thought it was. That particular tape did not have the width listed on it; that should have been a red flag. The liner appeared to be 1/2 inch long, so I assumed the tape was 1/2 wide; it wasn't. It was only about 1/4 inch wide. I was duped, but I learned my lesson: never buy double-sided tape if the dimensions are not clearly marked on the package. This tape says 1/4 inch & it IS 1/4 inch. 4) This double-sided tape is a great bargain. Compared to other tapes I've used, this is longer & less expensive. If you divide the price by the length of the tape, you will be able to compare the price per yard (or per foot or inch) I won't do the comparison for you because prices vary & what you pay may be slightly different than what I paid. Just remember to compare the length in the same measurement. Some tapes list how many yards, feet or inches long they are, which makes it difficult to compare the price per unit. This product is 42 YARDS long. Other products I've seen are 27 yards long or so many inches long. If you don't have a calculator handy, this product is 126 feet long or 1,512 inches long. This will help you to compare it to other products.

I’ve used this for collaging lightweight and medium weight papers, and it works well. Quite often, I will “back up” the adhesion by ALSO using a bit of archival glue. I apply the tape as close to the paper edges as possible.Some commenters said that they had trouble with this tape when attaching heavy papers, but I can’t comment on that. For that type of project, I would use glue!You’ll need precise scissors, and it helps to have some small scissors on hand, for cutting tiny pieces, especially if you use the1/4 or 1/8 inch tape.Warning: there will probably be tape residue left on your scissors, which will get your scissors sticky and unworkable. Not to worry… you can carefully clean your scissors using a soft cloth moistened with rubbing alcohol.Once the tape is applied, it’s not adjustable. After applying it, take your craft blade—I use an Xacto—carefully run the blade point lightly on one corner of the tape — you’re doing this so that the underneath tape is firmly attached. Then take your blade point and lift off the non-stick layer. Take your time.If you’re collaging super lightweight, fragile, or costly papers, then this tape might NOT be appropriate.

I am so very thrilled to have found this seller and this tape. I LOVE it. I had used up a roll I had for years and went searching. I found many that required an applicator of some type. I love the ability to use just very tiny pieces and being able to carefully apply it to very small projects. My most recent project was making little envelopes out of scrap booking paper to gift seeds from my garden. The template I used only allows for a very narrow adhesive and this tape is perfect.
