Affluenza: How Overconsumption Is Killing Us--and How to Fight Back

Got this for school, but it's a must read for the world we live in. Warning: you may spend less on Amazon after reading lol

This is a fairly interesting book for the most part. Some of the politics went over my head, but I enjoyed the things I did learn about, like how harmful fracking is. I was excited to get to the putting what I learned into practice chapters, but the sexual comics put here and there aren't what I like to put before my eyes. Yes, I get the point being made,but it was unnecessary to do it in that crass manner. After ignoring the first two, or trying to, when I got to the third I was done. Deleting from kindle. Going to read a different book on simplicity instead that doesn't include offensive sexual comics.

Good idea and I wholly agree that consumerism has run afoul in this nation and elsewhere. The premise is true but I’m sorry, Marxism even is small bites is not appetizing. Let folks pair down and get more out of life but don’t make it an across the board requirement, which is what would be needed to ensure slower living and better quality in all things human.I think starting with the ultra rich and trickling down should perhaps be explored. They won’t even give up water use in a major drought….

The book was in good condition and I received my book in a timely fashion.

Good quality, but content was not really my cup of tea. Had to buy for school.

One of the BEST books I read in college!!! Will help you think in a different way about the american dream. EVERYONE should read this book during or after college

Had to read this book for class. I probably wouldn't have bothered but now I am glad that I did read it as it makes so much sense.
