Doctrine and Covenants Made Easier, Part 1: Section 1 Through Section 42

I don’t like audiobooks at all! I need to see what I’m reading to absorb the information and to understand what they are talking about. Mr. Ridges has helped me to understand the D&C more than I ever have before. It’s also wonderful that I can read it on my phone when I have a few minutes and highlight items that I feel are necessary.

I'm a fan of how Bro. Ridges gives commentary and helpful explanations… it makes the scriptures more meaningful to someone who is definitely not a scriptorian (aka me!). The only thing missing is that there is mention of "bolded text" when he refers to the content of the section. Unfortunately it is not there, so you don't get the same feel as his Book of Mormon series (where the bolded content helps solidify doctrinal content). It may have been inadvertently removed during formatting, which is too bad. It really helps with learning the doctrinal points. Hoping for an updated version soon!

Enjoyed reading the commentary and notes throughout the book highlighting things in the verses that made it make much more sense. Enjoyed the end with more info on the key beginning members and J Smiths kids.

Very good at helping understanding and what is going in in that point if time. Loved the informational bonus chapter!

Brother Ridges carefully inserts pertinent background material within the scriptural content to add dimension and depth to the study of the scriptures. A wonderful study companion.

This book helps with studying the Doctrine and Covenants. The authors knowledge is vast. This book is so interesting. I highly recommend this book. I am starting to read part two.

I love the background and historical information to add to understanding the Doctrine and Covenants. Great insight into the people’s lives as well.

I love this book and the content as it really helps explain the background and deeper meanings. The problem is the “bolded parts of the sections for emphasis” is just not there. Somehow it has been erased and removed. Auther - please go look at your discussion for Section 29 and you’ll see why I am only giving it 3 stars - it just doesn’t work. If that were fixed / repaired - easily a 5-star.

Good value verse by verse explanations. Very good knowledge, easy to read without being too lengthy. Most valuable for this years (2021) studies.
