Light and smooth and way better than swift 3
Using this for past 2 weeks and no complains. Very light and powerful. I did uninstall the antivirus and some other software that ships with it. I think modern computers need 16GB or RAM and this one has it, which was a bonus and I think one of the reasons why it operates smoothly and fast. The USB-C works with my dock very well, so it doubles as a good desktop too (and yes the USB C charges the laptop if your dock supports it). Fingerprint scanner has been a pleasant surprise, I own a swift 3 , which had a very hit-or-miss fingerprint reader , where I had log in more with password than fingerprint, however with this laptop it works smoothly too. Similarly, swift 3 had problems with some USBC chargers , but this laptop charges well with most high wattage USBC chargers. Overall, so far, very happy with the buy, highly recommend it.

Love it!
I've now been using this laptop for 7 months. It's been great. This is my fourth Acer laptop and Acer is now my preferred brand. I was nervous about this purchase after reading the reviews here. But, I have not experienced the problems that some others have. My laptop does not run hot. The fan is perhaps louder than normal, but it rarely turns on so that has not been an issue. The laptop has frozen perhaps 5 times in 7 months and most of those were in the first 4 months. The only issue that I've had is that I can not get the fingerprinter reader to consistently work; however, I don't care about that and just use my pin. The laptop is fast, light, has a great screen, good sound, and a long battery life For me, it has been an excellent deal.

Thin, light, fast
Pros: numerous. quiet, thin, ultra light, fast, great network speed (i got an ethernet adapter preemptively, but wifi speed is almost as fast), awesome displayCons: gets hot with long online classes, touchscreen not great for writing (doesn't stay still), fingerprint reader unreliable/obsolete

Sound did not work, touchpad didn't work and can't install the driver
I was quite excited by the specs of this laptop - very light, large screen, powerful CPU. The problem is that the sound doesn't work AT ALL. Not a peep. The second problem was that the touchpad didn't work. I've spent a couple of hours looking for how to fix the driver problem - but I can't seem to make it work. I wasn't the only one either- this appears to be a common enough problem that people had come up with a variety of workarounds (which didn't work for me).All of this was deeply frustrating for a brand new laptop.I don't know if I got unlucky and got sent a lemon, or if the quality of Acer laptops has just dramatically declined. (My husband just bought an Acer chromebook and his screen died within 4 months of purchase.) I used to own a very reliable Acer ultralight - never had a problem. Either way, I would avoid this model given these problems.

Great light laptop
This laptop surprised me. It's light, and the screen is big. Works well but from time to time the touchscreen stops functioning (once in 2 weeks). A reboot will take care of the issue. For the price, it's the best laptop you can get. We do IT and I have the choice of using 2k plus laptops such as Microsoft Surface or HP. I have been using this for 2 years and it's been good. I ordered another one for a co-worker as well. The lightness really makes carrying it like a tablet very easy. Superlight and big screen.

I would not buy it again
I have three of this laptops. What I like; the beautiful screen, the super light 2.2 lb. That was my reason to buy them. It also works very well without issues, except for ONE but that is a deal breaker for me now. This laptop overheats, especially while watching videos. I mean it gets real hot. If you look at the bottom, there is only one place for ventillation, and that is small too. I had to buy cooling pads. If you look at second picture, that is the only place to cool it. It is not enough. I would not buy these laptops again and I am sorry I did because of the heating issue. I also have it on battery saver. I am not impressed with the battery life either. I am happy to get about 3 hours watching movie, or 4 hours using Internet.

great value
Did a ton of research before buying this. Amazing combination of light weight, 15" size and screen quality at less than 800 bucks. In addition to lightweight, screen quality was the other big factor. Great IPS panel. I couldn't find any laptop close to this price that had as good a screen. Great for photos when away from desktop monitors. Processor is a generation or two older, but still powerful and not a bottleneck for anything I'll use the laptop for.

When this thing works, it is totally worth it.
The media could not be loaded. I got the Corei7 version for black friday, lightning deal which cost me about 804 US with some tax on that. Couldnt really pass up the massive discount I was getting on this and now Im kinda regretting that. Got the laptop and wow, this thing completely boots up in literally 10-15 seconds. Touch screen works great. Image is crisp and clear. Typing works great for me.Also gaming, dont expect to run games on high end graphics on this thing, if youre gonna get a gaming PC especially to run modern games like fortnite, get something with a dedicated GPU thats not intel HD graphics .. not even sure why thats still in computersNow here comes the issuesBattery does not last as long as advertise but that is always expected. Im convinced when they test these things they just have the laptop sitting down doing nothing.Finger print reader ... dead ... just doesnt scan my finger properly, and it aint my finger the problem because every other device I own works just fine. The left control key is wonky, works and doesnt work so copying and pasting is annoying. The biggest issue I have which you see in the video .. is it will just freeze, why does a brand new laptop just freeze like that? super annoying and I have to force shut it down every time.Im currently not in the US so i have to wait a while before I can send it back to acer for repair, I have 90 days so thats enough time but man, its just an annoying process to have to go through
