Mother Courage and Her Children (Modern Plays)

To this day there are some different translations of Brechts play Mother Courage.But if you are going to work with the play you simply m u s t read Eric Bentleys translation of the play. He was a pioneer in introducingBrecht's dramas, songs and poetry in an english speaking culture.(As a matter of fact as a young man he even met Bert Brecht. ).But whatever translation you finally use, my advice is: read first of all mr Bentleys version!
