I have about 12 year's experience of using sound and light machines like this, first the original Proteus machine and more recently the Viewsonic InnerPulse which I am looking to replace now.I like the hardware of the Mind Synergy. The unit is light, the glasses are the most comfortable to wear that I have experienced and the supplied earbuds are comfortable also. The operating system has some minor complications but overall it makes sense and I found it easy to adjust things like brightness and volume while a session was running.The Mind Synergy comes with over a hundred built-in programs. I tried a number of these and found all of them very unsatisfactory. The other machines I have used both supply an entertaining and immersive light and sound experience which is pleasant, engaging and puts you unmistakeably into the state of mind targeted by the program you selected. The patterns delivered through the glasses of the Mind Synergy are nice and bright but I did not find them particularly interesting or engaging. The sound pulses delivered through the ear buds are simplistic, repetitive and uninteresting. The pleasure of running a program on the Proteus or the InnerPulse is simply missing from the Mind Synergy.I noticed that when I was using the Mind Synergy I did not feel engaged by it. Every program seemed somewhat similar and for me at least none of them had any discernable effect. The manual talks about plans for special programs which can be obtained from Mind Synergy's website. I could not find a single one. The Mind Synergy can play a music file in parallel with one of its built in programs. I tried this but the poor quality of the built in programs was not improved by listening to music at the same time.The Mind Synergy may have some potential, but as it stands the built-in programs need a major upgrade if it is to compete with other units on the market. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this product.

I took a chance on this as there were no reviews, I have owned nearly every mind machine over 25 years, they all seem to be a bit flimsy except for the original nova pro, this feels like that, the quality of sound and light is superb, the 100 or so pre loaded sessions seem brilliant even though I’m only on about the fifth, the goggles are superb, the light show is brilliant, I use proper headphones rather than the supplied cheap in ears, but that’s not a criticism, it’s my choice. It all works seamlessly, and what I really liked is that the instructions booklet is detailed in its explanation of what you might expect. I recommend this mind machine highly
