Depends on your pole
The construction is well thought out and adaptable to many different types of phones. The remote is a welcome accessory. I have high quality collapsible hiking poles and the attachment for the end is less than satisfactory. i'm always concerned that it's just going to fall off the end of the pole and my phone is going to smash on the ground.

Didn't fit with my REI trekking pole
The attachment was too narrow for the pole I have even adjusted all the way wide. The remote shutter works well and is useful without the holder.
