QT GRN Heated Pet Bowl 1 Quart, 25 watts

Bought this for the feral cats in my neighborhood. It would be nice to be able to adjust the temp on this. On very cold days there is a layer of ice on the water. I think no ice and warmer water would be nicer for them.

I purchased this for both my indoor/outdoor cat AND the wild birds that frequent my yard. So far, they have not had an unfortunate meet-up. I have this set up right outside my back door, under the overhang of the east side of my house. After a very mild start to the season, the temperatures dropped to frigid in the past few weeks. This watering dish has kept the water drinkable, with a little ice forming around the edge. The lip is relatively wide, but the small birds have no trouble perching on the edge to grab a drink. My cat stops at the bowl every time he goes out the door. (Which can be pretty often; I think he has short-term memory issues and can't get it in his head that it is too cold for him to go outside.)

This heated pet bowl that was advertised as being one quart was still a bit pricey, as I was able to buy a gallon sized heated pet bowl of the same material composition (i.e. caged cord, element, plastic polymer) for under $30 about 2 yrs. ago. Bought this anyway because I figured prices have gone up due to the pandemic supply shortages & the rising inflation. Boy, do I ever regret not shopping around a little! Please see my various pics for a honest reference. Not only was this little heated pet bowl quite well overpriced, but it also does not hold the one quart of capacity as was advertised. 1 quart= 4 cups. This (Vandalay Industries) pet "dish"= 2.5 cups! Not happy at all with my purchase & will end up having to buy another next pay check for winter-prep as a water bowl for my doggies:( However, rather than trying to return my misfortune I will try to use as a gift for a neighbor with rabbits because that is all this tiny heated dish will be good for! Say no way to Vandalay! (I should have known better... wasn't that from a Seinfeld episode or something?)

We bought this for our pet chicken. She lives in a warm heated coop, but her water is outside in below zero weather. We had to put this off the ground, but it works great and at below zero we’ve had just a thin layer of ice to break thru. Great product. The cord could be longer.. but it’s still very functional.

This week has been extremely cold. Our lows have been below zero, but the water is never frozen. I bought another one for soft cat food and the food hasn't frozen either. I just put the cat food in a paper bowl and that makes cleaning super easy.

Worked all winter long this year. Did not have any issues with temps down to -10f.

We have a lot of stray cats who wander into our yard. this bowl, since the water doesn't freeze, is perfect for them to have a drink.

Our outdoor cats LOVE this bowl. Temps got down to -5 the other night and they had fresh unfrozen water through it all.
