I have not been disappointed! Every recipe I've tried has been delicious and ...
My younger daughter is vegan, I am mostly vegetarian and my husband and older daughter are both omnivores. Meal times have been torture for me as I try to devise menus that work for everyone (and in most cases don't make anyone particularly happy). I saw an interview with Anna Thomas in the Washington Post and knew immediately this was a book I had to have. I have not been disappointed!Every recipe I've tried has been delicious and has fit into a meal that has components that satisfy everyone at the table, even when I have served the vegan version of the dish. My husband has even happily eaten a few completely meatless meals because the food is so good and flavorful it doesn't seem as if he's being punished or is giving something up.One other point - so many cookbooks (and recipes on the internet) sound wonderful but it is clear the recipes have never been tested as written. This is not the case with Vegan Vegetarian Omnivore. Clearly the author has taken great pains to ensure that her recipes will deliver as described, which does my heart good. There is nothing worse than investing a lot of time preparing a meal that sounds wonderful on the printed page but doesn't deliver in reality. Thank you, Anna Thomas. Your book is already dog eared and food splattered, the surest sign that it is being used again and again.

This IS the future style of cookbooks.
The concept of culinary creativity while feeding a diverse group of foodies has just been slightly out of reach -- until now. My idea of a good recipe cookbooks starts with The Menu. How can you feed everyone and not go crazy with their food lifestyles or go crazy creating multi-menus for each person? Anna Thomas answers this question simply.I have owned over 300 cookbooks. Many I have culled and donated to the local library. One of my first cookbook purchases is still on my shelf : Anna Thomas' 1972 edition of "The Vegetarian Epicure.""The Vegan Vegetarian Omnivore" will join it as "the one to keep."

I am not a huge cookbook person but this one has become my all time favorite. I had stopped having dinner parties because it was becoming too difficult to suit everyone. This book is the answer to my prayers. Everything I have made from it has wowed my guests. So pleased I found this!

Wow! Another home run for Anna Thomas!
Vegan Vegetarian Omnivore is organized in such a pleasing way and the photographs are wonderful. The recipes are amazing. I'm so thrilled with this cookbook I'm already planning to order two more copies as gifts for special friends who also love to cook. I was 18 when I discovered Vegetarian Epicure and Anna Thomas' recipes have never let me down - 40+ years and counting! She just gets better and better.

Wonderful cookbook!
I enjoy cooking through the seasons with this book. The lentil, beet, and salmon salad is terrific. So too are the braised winter vegetables. I also recommend the red quinoa salad with the arugula--that is my go-to year round. So many tasty dishes here.

I'm always glad when cookbooks acknowledge that
Her recipes are always so delicious. Also, this book is so logical. Most families are a mix of vegan, vegetarian and omnivore. I'm always glad when cookbooks acknowledge that.

A useful dusey of a cookbook
Full of good ideas and easy recipes for those of us who are omnivores and want to be able to cook for vegan or vegetarian friends. Much easier to start vegan or vegetarian and add for the omnivores. Cooking for omnivores and picking out things to make it vegan or vegetarian is a "no, no" as some of the omnivore juices will have compounds that will sicken/cause hurtful indegestion for a vegan or a vegetarian. So - it is nice to start for the most restrictive and go to wide open ingredients.
