Welcome to China (DK Readers)

Colorful, succinct, and excellent for school reports. I wish DK would publish books for children that deal with smaller developing countries, as well. The market is really lacking in those titles for young readers.

After returning from a vacation trip to China, I was looking for a nice picture book to share with the kids I see for speech therapy. This book did the trick! My kids all loved the pictures and learned a few things too.

I used this book in my preschool classroom and they loved it. It was full of information, but was not too much. Just the right amount of information on a young kid level. Great for school or for home.

This is a good introductory book for kids about age 10. The pictures are a bit lacking and fairly small for the size of the pages.

O u 9 year old granddaughter was adopted from China. We sent this book to her and it arried 3 days before Chinese New Year. When she called to thank us she was all excited. We asked her If she liked it. She said , "No, I don't like it, I Love it!" One happy child!!

I have both the print edition and the kindle edition of this book. The print version of this book is great, very well written and very appropriate for the suggested age range. Unfortunately, I was not happy with the formatting of the kindle edition. The kindle edition is simply scans of the book and as a result, the print is very small and the font cannot be enlarged It's just not useful for a child who is using a kindle because of poor eyesight and requires larger fonts to read.

It is to the point... A brief introduction of China, nothing more, nothing less! Keeps a 7 year old reader fascinated.

Bought this for my Daughter to take to school for a China project.Nice book, good info but a little ott on some info.
