Cat Elastic Safety Collar (Light Blue)

I have tried several other safety cat collars on my cat, but these are far and away my favorite. I love love love the thick elastic strap. This means the collar slips off over the cat's head should he become entangled, rather than breaking away. I've tried the breakaway ones and some are so flimsy that he loses them within hours. I can't stand the ones with the thin rubber bands because they're so weak. The breakaway clasps also left much to be desired, in my experience. The clasp on these is very sturdy. Again, it's not the clasp that is designed to give way, but the elastic which is the main safety feature.These collars really do work. My cat tunnels through some dense underbrush and almost always shows up at the door with this still intact. However, he does arrive naked about every other month, which tells me he got his collar caught and it did its job by letting him wriggle out and return home unharmed.As mentioned in the title, I use these in conjunction with the BirdsBeSafe collar sleeve. My cat used to be an accomplished bird hunter and would kill at least one every day. The sleeves have reduced his success (with birds, anyway) by nearly 95% and with this safety collar underneath it, it's a match made in heaven.These collars by themselves are highly reflective and easily catch the eye at night. It truly is another safety feature that works on these all-around great collars. The BirdsBeSafe sleeve also has a reflective strip on it. Therefore, I don't purchase these necessarily for the reflection, but simply because they have worked the best for me and my cat. These seem to have the perfect balance of sturdiness and staying put, while also allowing my cat to escape in a true emergency. By now, I am on my 7th or 8th of these collars and would purchase these in bulk if I could.

Works well and is comfortable on the cat, but with enough persistence they can and will slice through it. Had to buy a replacement after 1/2 a year, but the second one is holding strong.

The perfect cat collar for cats who hate and know how to remove breakaway collars. I wanted a collar that my cat couldn't remove, but still would be safe if anything happened and this is perfect. It has a good amount of elasticity without being elastic 3noigh for my cat to easily remove it for fun. Plus, it's very adjustable and very reflective!I was worried about how durable it would be since the product photo didn't make it look very durable to me. But I took the chance and I'm glad I did. I actually find it to be very well made and it actually looks more durable than the breakway collar I got from Petco (pictured). It seems like it would be more comfortable as well. Definitely a great price for the value of this collar.I was also worried about this collar arriving while I'm gone for a trip, but it arrived so much earlier than expected, so that was a big win for me.So far, I've only seen my cat try to remove it once, but since it doesn't breakaway, he hasn't figured out how to remove it yet. And the color matches my cat's eyes haha. So this is a definite recommended product from me.

First time cat mom and I read all the horrors of cats wearing regular collars. Unfortunately my cat has decided to be outdoor during the day inside at night now. the safety ones from petco would come off way too easy and I needed to add a tracker to the collar. The weight would undo the collar too easy so i make shifted an extension on them using a shoe lace so he wouldnt loose the tracker but still be able to get undone from any trouble. Then amazon of course targeted me for this product which of course i bought. LolThe stretch is good, so i feel less anxious over him getting caught on something in the event that happens. Its SUPER reflective, thats another point that convinced me to buy because my cat is black. You can see him from ways away with this even more so with a flashlight. I got the silver one. Very good buy.

I bought this for my outdoor cat that wears a gps tracker. I was looking for something that would not break off easily if he scratched at it. Some of those breakaway collars break away way too easily. I wanted an elastic stretch in case he got hung up but a clip that will hold. The clip is very sturdy. The color nice and bright. However after a couple months of everyday use the stitching is coming loose from his scratching himself - and eventually the collar and gps tracker will be lost. I removed the collar before that happens and will reorder a new one. For the money this is a good option.

My grey tabby absolutely HATES collars, but he also is adventurous and constantly worries me by trying to slip outdoors. Because of this, I like to keep a tag on him that gives info for returning him, but it's really difficult to find collars that don't have breakaway clasps which he can undo, and he also knows how to slip out of collars that don't have them. This collar makes a fantastic compromise by using a normal clasp with enough give in the collar itself for him to be able to slip out of it if he gets stuck, but ONLY if he gets it caught on something.What really surprises me about this collar though is how comfortable it feels. It is like brushed windbreaker type material - soft, a little stretchy but not too much, breathable, and doesn't hold on to water. The silver/white collar is probably the most noticeable colour in the dark. OMG, it is BRIGHT! Should he get outdoors at night, people will not have any problems seeing him.He's also got a very large neck. I think it's around 12", and most cat collars only go up to 10". This collar fits him well and even leaves over the room to grow.This is also the very FIRST collar he has acted like he ENJOYS wearing! He hasn't tried to take it off even once.
