I have not had to inflate this yet fortunately, so cannot comment on that. It does have a manual inflation tube. However, the quality on this appears to be pretty good. The web belt is wider and heavier than the other popular brand. The belt connector is a nice set of heavy stainless square links vice the typical plastic snap lock type. It also comes with a heavy duty stainless D link on the belt.The D link should have been put on the back side however. That's because if were to be used for a helicopter hoist you want the weight of your body bending you forward not backwards. It's still good to have though.In either case, as it is now, you would slide the belt up so that it came up to your armpits. The jacket also comes with sewn in reflective strips, so in all this is a serious lifejacket. Deserves credit where due.

Great product with a great price. Get to know how to reload the vest. Mine accidentally went off in my van. My fault, not the best. Was good it happened. I had to figure out how to reload. Buy reload package when you purchase the best. Make sure it's the right size co2 cartridge.

It was not designed well enough to really be an effective life jacket for open water. In near shore situations it is probably okay. It should have had two D rings and not just one. the way it connects is hard to do in an emergency situation. The biggest let down was that it was not automatic.
