This book is not good for fifth graders although it was in a list of suggested books from CPS for that age! I thought it would provide a thorough and balanced view of video games in general to my daughter, who loves video games (she plays, Mario Kart, Minecraft, Zelda etc.). This books talk about extremely violent games, that are not intended for kids, and their regulation. Me and my husband read it and forbid my daughter to read it. This debate is not for kids since these violent games are rated "adult only". This book don't even talk about the learning opportunities that video games in general provide. It is not well balanced, it has directed views, talk about shootings by a kid and it looks like the author is just a frustrated mother who wants to make a point. The targeted readers shouldn't be children. It is not mentioned that the book is about extremely violent video games also. This book should be written as an article to parents about choice of video games for their children. So the entire format: "Matters of Opinion" is wrong!
