These are really cool! I live in a windy area and it makes it easy to start a fire without the wind blowing out the lighter.

Interesting concept and even more interesting story behind the lighter.

I suspect this is for a smoke. It is not a flame and I kind of new it was "different" but not just a smoldering rope- STUPID ME.I don't smoke so let's get that out of the way. I bought it for an emergency and the "cool" factor for perhaps starting a fire. It could but more work than I need to go through. I have plenty of other items like tiny lighters that run on "zippo" fuel and so on. It is interesting, it takes some effort to get that "cherry" lit, not sure I want to taste that if I was to use this to light something I would smoke. Certainly not a cigar or pipe. Cigarette only if that thing is red hot.IT TAKES SOME WORK. Yes I prepped it perfectly- I just don't see the point unless you want to display it and have around as a conversation piece. Not the most $ in the world and that fits in my mind. Else- get a regular lighter. This is not a life saver in tough situations or a desperate smoke in a bad place. Bring a "bic".
