Prayers Paperback – September 1, 1985

It was honestly described. However, I'm looking for a leather bound cover copy of this same book. I did have a copy of M. Quoist, Prayers with a leather cover for a very reasonable price. . Please contact me if you are able to find one.Bonnie

I am just getting started with this great book. I am not reading it like a novel, and it is not so intended to be read. Fr. Quoist has a unique relationship with God and it is worth my time to get to know his writing. I like that he writes God's response to his prayers.

What a wonderful collection of prayers. These are encouraging and convicting in many ways. They help us look at our lives a little differently while we're here on this earth. I liked to read one prayer each day before I start my day.

THIS BOOK, THOUGH WRITTEN IN 1954, HAS SOME OF THE MOST THOUGHT PROVOKING, SOUL SEARCHING,CONTEMPORARY PRAYERS I HAVE EVER READ. IE., THE EXAMPLE OF A BRICK AS EACH BRICK IS IMPORTANT AS TO WHERE IT IS IN A BUILDING, RELATING TO WHERE I STAND IN THE WORLD,? FAITHFULLY IN THE RIGHT PLACE.....DIFFERENT THAN THE PRAYERS WE MEMORIZE, IT MAKES YOUREALLY THINK ABOUT THE WORLD AND THE PEOPLE, PLACES AND THINGS IN OUR DAILY LIVES....THIS BOOK COULD CHANGE THE WORLD......

I love MIchael Quoist! His prayers talk to my own experience in faith: my doubts, reluctances, failures, advances - the best and the worst, in a way that inspires me to keep walking. When I share the prayers with the youth, though, I usually edit them to make them shorter, more "straight to the point".

I've owned this for years and love every prayer in it. Far from the rote and mind numbing prayers you could recite in your sleep, this book provokes you into seeing prayer as a way of life every day in every aspect.

A treasure! Prayers written by a marvelous Christian prelate and obviously by the Holy Spirit.First discovered in quotes by my pastor - then found on Amazon and added to my library.

Wonderful collection of prayers that have very personal messages. I've given the book to several people and continue to enjoy it myself.

This is the same book as Prayers of Life except that it is the American translation. The printing is inferior and the cover curled up after a day (none of my other books have done so).

OK - Fr Quoist wrote in the '60's BUT his prayers are as relevant today as then...... if you want a guide to contemporary prayer then this collection is highly recommended.

This book is an answer to prayer. It is moving and draws out he inner yearlings of the heart. It could be equated to a door that leads one into a deeper reflection on man, life and the call of God interwoven in it all.I would recommend it to anyone seeking deeper spirituality this Lent.This book is BEAUTIFUL!!!

Michel Quoist's books are always a joy, His writing is so to the point and very clear. As a local preacher it is always good to be challenged.
