Just as i expected great product

The author does a great job explaining various theologies and what is common to most Christian groups. I read it for a class, and I liked it for a textbook. I think the author does a good job of not injecting his own preferences into the book. However, some sections may have been a bit wordy because of his caution in this regard. Still, a great book.

Migliore writes with clarity and carefully pushes forward to a mediating position on several theological issues, though one may not always appreciate his conclusions. I appreciated his inclusion and treatment of positions with which I wasn't familiar, which treatments seemed to me to be balanced. As a Lutheran, I also appreciated his engagement with some of our important theologians and foundational documents, which speak to his dedication as a scholar. This is a worthwhile read for any interested in modern systematics, though this work is but an overview.

Great reading

Have been working through this text as part of a Theology class in Seminary.Thought provoking, and extremely pertinent to our continued struggles today. Migliore doesn't just make claims, he cites references, includes rebuttals from other theologians and presents his position in a well thought out way.

A necessary replacement item.

某出版社で日本語訳が上・下巻での翻訳が計画されているようですが、今のところ上巻で止まってしまっています。待っていてもらちが明かないので英語版を買いました。まだほとんど読んでいないので、星の数で評価することができません。あたりさわりのない３つを付けています。長老教会の牧師先生たちは読んでいる人が多いと感じます。

Loved it! Used for insight and understanding. He has brought together voices of the past and contemporary voices of today.

I bought this book as it was a 'required text' on my theology course, however, some staff considered it's view too reformed and it's style 'heavy going'. Having read it myself I think it's brilliant. Maybe Higton or McGrath are the tried and trusted starting points but this book really does add a really useful dimension I and I find it a 'good read' as far as theology books go.
