lOVED IT!
I am a fan of this book! Anyone can have moments in life where staying creative seems a hard task to do. This book gives you advice on ways you can stay creative when times become tough. The author Austin Kleon, provides with you 10 ways to help you enter a creative mindset. Kleon writes about different authors' and artists' routines to stay creative. He shares with the reader the routines that helped those artists/authors create their best work. This book gave me tips I will definetly put into practice like finding a space to be creative. Kloen talks about letting your mind be free and be able to just think and be creative. Find a space in your house or anywhere you would like or a specific time throughout the day to be creative. Opening a time to be creative to make doodles or come up with the most random ideas. Similarly, as setting a time for a bible study, the gym, or a time for journaling, setting a time to be creative is a great tip Kloen has given us.Another tip he gave us is when you are stuck on a project and do not feel creative then try to make something ugly. Try to make the ugliest and worst project and that will help your creativity shift in a different direction giving you another view of your work at the moment.Look at your work as an opportunity to perform your best each day. When you get stuck on a project just play around with your design anything that comes to mind draw it down. Even if it is hard to create something one day, doing anything is a step closer and a sign of productivity.

A timeless book both from the heart and for the heart
I’ve read Austin Kleon’s other two books, Show Your Work! and Steal Like an Artist, both of which offer advice on how to unlock your creativity and help you to get your work out into the world. In this book aimed at writers, artists, and creatives of all types, the author offers tips, tricks, and techniques on how to stay creative during good times and bad.Though this is just a short book, it is an inspirational one, and it contains an incredible amount of wisdom and depth in its pages. The book is peppered with relevant quotes, humor, chuckle-worthy illustrations, black-out poetry, advice from other creatives and inspiring stories that made me get excited all over again about the projects I’m currently working on. But more than that, this is also a practical book on how to live a good and satisfying life despite the chaos that sometimes surrounds us.Though this is a fast read — I think I read it through the first time in less than two hours — this isn’t the kind of book you place back on your shelf when you’re finished and forget about it. Like his other books, you’ll want to have it close at hand so that it’s within easy reach to refer back to often. I now have it on my desk with his other two books, and I have little doubt that I’ll be turning to it often.I think this would be an excellent motivating book to refer to when going through rough patches — those times in your life when success seems too far off to reach for or when you’re feeling lost or jaded. This might be just the book to pull you out of a slump. All in all, Keep Going is a timeless book both from the heart and for the heart, and I highly recommend it.

A light read on common topics
3.5-4 out of 5 stars. Small book of short essays(?) with many illustrations that touches on common advice for artists (but also that can be found in every self-help book) such as the power of practice/habit, having a time/place for creative work, etc. For me it was a nice break from the hefty 300 pages hard bound books that I've been reading this year (Klein’s books tend to be these small 200ish pages squares with lots of illustrations). There was only one sticking point I had in this book and that was the part where he referred to the show Hoarders as “propaganda against clutter” and where he takes issue with Marie Kondo’s famous book yet talks about mise en place and how tidying can be beneficial. When it comes to Hoarders, the show is more of a mental health awareness show mixed with a warning against excess clutter that can lower the quality of life and impede safety... definitely not a show about tidying up. Kondo’s book from what I understand is more about minimalism from the lens of modern Japanese culture. Perhaps this can be seen as an anti-clutter stance but it is just another way of viewing the same topic that Kleon promotes: readiness. That said, I’d still read his other books though I’d probably wait until they’re on sale. The paper and print quality are better than many books but I’m not sure if the book content is worth $12.95 cover-listed price

Definitely enjoyed this book!
I finally got down to read this book after being too scared to do it for whatever reason I forgot why. But I was able to read the copy I bought and feel a bit of myself coming back to life.Thank you, Austin. I'm glad I bought this book. Looking forward to more from you.

Bought all 3 in the series
Super great, thoughtful, reminder content. Not instructive but more associative continent with past and present example snippets. Books are well done, lots of pages on graphics, poems, and wasted space. Did I come away with a ton of learning, no, not really. I expected more, but still had many things to look back on, and I am sharing these books with my GF to help her on her projects. Great more for beginning creatives over 25+ year industry people that have their fingers on the pulse of the industry since there’s an influencer born every minute. He writes very well, which allowed me to reach his 3 books in one day, with plenty of time left over for a dinner date with my GF and ice cream after! I do recommend and he still gets 5 stars for I know this is great content others do need to hear and it was put together nicely!

The best book he's ever written. Bravo Austin!
I'm a big fan of Austin Kleon having collected his other books but he outdid himself with this book. Kleon has a way of writing that makes you feel like you're having a coffee with a mate talking about your troubles in your creative career. As a writer and entrepreneur, sometimes it can feel daunting and lonely walking on this road. but honestly, this book has been a confidante and coach when the journey got a bit rough. If you do anything remotely creative then you will need this in your locker. A must buy!

Excellent content arrived damaged
Sadly there isn't a simple way of raising a quality issue with Amazon - I have recently ordered all three of Auston Kleon's brilliant range and the first 2 books were delivered separately while the third was restocked.Sadly the front cover of the third book is damaged, it looks like a sticker has been torn from it damaging the top of the cover in a couple of places

A simple but insightful commentary on issues which block creativity
There may be lessons here you are familiar with however I assure you they are framed very beautifully in this text. Why you shouldn't monetise your whole hobby, who are you serving anyway... Just two of the many topics. I found this wholesome and helpful, thought provoking in a way that'll help me take action.
