Damaged
After contemplating the major brands and looking at the few reviews I ordered the z650d. The item arrived in very nice packaging and after taking out of the package I discovered one of the shelves was bent. This was the shelf that a box with accessories was sitting on, probably a bad idea from the start. Return process was smooth and the replacement grill arrived a week later. The replacement grill appeared damaged right off the truck and was bent in the same place but even more than the first. I relented to buy locally even though this grill is beautiful and was my first choice I now own a Weber.

Does not keep the temperature, the hood is well built it is not painted so you will no be eating the paint on your food, the bad part is that the hood is built with a pretty large gap so that the heat generated by the 5 burners goes out the window.... I have tried to get in touch with customer service to find out if I am missing a piece although I doubt it... but no reply....by the way the unit is made in china...

Cooks good, plenty of heat
Cooks good, plenty of heat. The lower cabinet and side top shelves are stainless but not 304 stainless, ( lower quality ) The side top shelves fold down which would be cool if It was designed proper, their not. Very spongy, almost afraid to set a big pot of corn in water on it. For that much money, I guess I expected better. But over all It's a nice, good cooking, good looking grill

Swiss Grill Z650D - The Last Grill I'll Ever Buy
What a wonderful piece of equipment! Very happy with my Swiss Grill. First, it arrived boxed, with pallet underneath. No visible damage to speak of, but boy, is this a heavy grill. Took three of us to gingerly get it off the truck. Packaging is well engineered, everything was in good shape, but note for you: Shake all the packaging and keep your eyes open. Little bitty screws, nuts, and washers can scatter. I told Swiss Grill they should invest in some Lok-Tite. We moved the grill to its new backyard home and began to do the small amount of assembly required. Mostly intutive, but will take some thought on what goes where. The installation instructions are two or three design revisions behind the product, so they were OK as a guide, but not accurate. Had to play detective on where some screws came from. No explanation on the drip tray and grease pan, had to figure that out on my own. Contributed a couple of my own screws and nuts when I couldn't find the right ones. If you have a good sense of mechanical/industrial design - if IKEA is easy for you - you should be able to sort it out.Having completed assembly, let me just say that the performance is all that is promised. Consistant temps from corner to corner, great grids, rotisserie works beautifully (but poor assembly instructions). Easy on burners light quickly. Doors and storage are very convenient and less pricy than outdoor kitchen built ins (I'll be building an OD kitchen around this grill). Easy to clean and maintain, and after three months in wet spring weather it sill looks great. This WILL be the last grill I ever buy!BOTTOM LINE: The grill is all I ever hoped it would be; no disappointment at all! I've added the cast iron griddle and look forward to pancakes and bacon outdoors. Downside is you need to be a bit of an engineer / detective to solve problems like "what goes where?" because there are parts that come loose during shipping and the instructions are not much help.

You get less than what you paid for - did not last even a month
Support site under construction. Maker will not return calls. Lasted less than a year before rusting out. (photos included). After reading dozens of reviews, one would believe that this unit is worthy of a built-in kitchen. I had a granite countertop cut to fit this grill and overall was pleased with several months of use. However, by the time the first year anniversary of the grill purchase came around the unit is deteriorating. My grill is always covered and cleaned after each use. So I could safely rule out abuse or lack of attention.Burners: I started to notice uneven heat distribution. So I decided to pull off burner covers just to see that some of the burners had rust on them and places, where the holes are in some instances, are rusted out causing all of the flames to escape there. On low settings this caused the burners with the issue to have much lower temp than the ones without.Grill Cover and Back: Heavy stain's and rust despite numerous cleanings at the fist sighting. I have tried oven cleaners that typically work. Unfortunately, this unit is rusting away on its own. After about a month of no use, I opened the cover to find rust on "marine grade stainless steel."Door Hinges: Doors are easily scratchable, but what is most frustrating is that just after a 12 month of use, four hinges have rusted out.My Summary: It was a good grill while it was in new shape, it quickly deteriorated, I would say much faster than box store equivalents. My biggest frustration is with the manufacturer whose website is under construction, and they won't return calls.I am hoping that Amazon can step in and assist with replacement.

I have the z650d and could not be happier with the quality and craftsmanship
I have the z650d and could not be happier with the quality and craftsmanship! The foods I have prepared so far have come out terrific and the btus are more than enough for perfect steaks, chicken, burgers etc. just amazing! Downgrading a star as there were screws out which were hard to access to put back in with nuts in hard to get to locations. Also, as I needed natural gas twice I ordered the conversion kit and tools were not in box. As they said the tools were household fair but not as the screwdriver was very long and thin. So several trips to hardware store and delays on delivery I was finally in business, minus a few screws still! If you can get past some of the minor irritations I just mentioned you will be thrilled with the grill!
