Bonded Leather Recliner w/ Ottoman - Birch Hardwood Base - Taupe

I do like this recliner, as it's a good deal for the price. Very easy to assemble (did it on my own) and so nice that Amazon delivered so fast so I don't have to worry about trying to transport/deliver one myself if I buy something at store. I only give it 3 stars not because product isn't good, but because of a couple of things that wasn't to my expectation.First, I ordered the Taupe color recliner (it still says taupe on my product order as I type this) but what came to me was brown. I didn't bother to return and exchange as sending the whole box back will be such a hassle and I really needed to use this chair for my office right away so I couldn't take time to return and exchange. But it was a disappointment as I was really looking forward to the lighter color which would've suited my office decor much more completely. The brown is OK, and I suppose it'll cover up any stains/dirt better but it still wasn't what I wanted in color.Second, for some reason, I had an impression that the seat had more depth and handrests will be higher. I'm short and petite so no big deal, but even then, for my small frame, this still feels somewhat smaller than I thought, but I'm sure I just had no sense of measurements. I don't think it's because the merchant or Amazon described it inaccurately. The recliner and ottoman looks exactly like in the photos provided (minus the color difference from what I ordered). To the chair's credit, it doesn't affect its comfort level. It's just more of an expectation that didn't happen.All in all, I enjoy it. I have a much nicer, more expensive and designer brand real leather recliner at home that goes for a couple thousand dollar, but I didn't want to pay that much for an office use (mainly to lower my expenses) but still wanted a comfortable recliner to sit on as I sit a lot in my work (as a therapist). I can say that I'm satisfied with what I got. I would've given in a 3 and half star but there isn't any halves star to put up.

I bought the chair last week and it arrived around 6 days later. I have just assembled it and am now typing this review while sitting on the chair.Good:- I quite like the taupe color - fits well with a theme of orange/beige/white in my living room. Easy on the eyes.- Assembly was pretty easy once I understood the pictorial instructions. The screws were very large and all the holes lined up properly (I read some reviews of other chairs that seem to suggest that the holes did not line up properly for the screws to go in? Thankfully this one didn't have any such issues!), and the pieces weren't too heavy to lift for one person to finish assembling in well under an hour.- The bonded leather/polyurethane is actually quite soft - not as soft as my couch which has real leather, but better than I had expected from some other polyurethane products I've seen and tested before.- The chair is quite large and comfortable (I'm a fairly average-sized male of 5'10'' and 155lb). My head rests squarely on the head rest if I recline it just a little bit, which is actually the angle I want. There is a good two inch gap between me and each of the handles on my left and right, so I don't feel cramped at all. The cushions are soft but not overly so; the back has plenty of support to offer as well.- Ottoman is a good height and size; you can't sit on it (it's slanted), but it's pretty sturdy otherwise.- Reclining works well as long as you adjust the screw to the right tightness so it doesn't shift around too much but budges easily when you want to. Fully reclines to a pretty good angle too (I'd say... 135 degrees).Bad:- It took me a while to understand the instructions for assemblage, since the pictures weren't the best or the most clear at times. The connectors for the back to the seat cushion itself wasn't easy to figure out (the the diagram drew three very similar looking pieces all connected together without giving any indication of what piece was what), but that was really the only hard part.- The armrests are a little bit low for me; I'd have liked them maybe half an inch to an inch higher? My arms don't feel exactly natural resting on them. That's really the only drawback.

Have had chair approx 1 month. Required about 30-40 minutes to assemble.1. I'm 5'8" and chair is comfortable.2. Chair is more tan in color than the almost white color it looks in photo on my laptop/iphone/ipad3. Approx ship date stated it would be 7-10 days. Ordered on a Monday morning and it arrived at noon on Wed 2 days later.Normally this would be great but when I received an email Monday morning stating that the chair had shipped I contacted Cymax via several emails and they refused to help get Federal Express to hold until I returned to town 4 days later(customer services lack of concern is reason for 4 star instead of 5). I contacted Fed Ex several times and long story short, the chair was left in front of my door 2 days after shipping. Had to get a friend to go over and put inside. Thank goodness it didn't rain.4. Chair looks nice and wood is a beautiful color.5. I did a lot of research and this chair had the best price and the size was a little larger than most.6. It is bonded leather and through my research and friends experiences there is a very good chance that in 2-3 years the leather will crack and peel. It is important to clean with a damp cloth on a regular basis, especially anywhere that the body touches. If you want real leather then you will need to pay at least 3 times the price of this one.7. I use a small pillow behind lower back for lumbar support.8. A couple of days after I received I noticed 2 tiny roaches on floor at base of chair. I have not seen a roach in my home for decades(since I began using Combat Roach Discs). I'm sure it came from inside of chair. I put a combat roach disc under chair and have not seen any more roaches. I don't think this is unusual since most products are stored in hot warehouses.9. Overall I'm very pleased with chair and would purchase it from this company again. Just double check with them for a more accurate delivery date.10. I will try to update in 6 months.
