A satisfying conclusion to an epic tale!
This trilogy never felt padded or artificially prolonged as so many series do. The conclusion of The War of Souls was very well told and actually concluded with a very nice balance of some hanging threads to continue the tales of Krynn with. I am happy to highly recommend not just this trilogy but this concluding volume to Dragonlance fans as well as to Anyone who enjoys a well told tale. Enjoy!

Enjoyable
I have not read a Tracy Hickman and Margaret Weis book in quite a few years. This was very enjoyable. And to have some of the familiar charts be in this series was an added plus for mr. I always liked Tasselhof. Looking forward to reading more.

Didn't see it coming
I'm usually the type who knows how the story is going to end before I've finished the first chapter (or watched the first 10 minutes), and know exactly what's going to happen next, but there were dozens of points in this story that took me completely by surprise and I didn't even see them coming. (That's a good thing!)The main complaint I have is that it's clear this book wasn't copy edited; numerous grammatical errors litter the book, but at least you can get past them.

Great! Thank ya!!!
The book came super duper fast! Shockingly fast shipping! The book came in amazing quality as well, considering how old this book is, I was very impressed. The previous owners definitely took care of this book and i'm very happy with the quality. The book was also great as I am trying to finish the whole series which is going to take forever but with companies like this and the quality the bring that won't be a problem. Extremely happy, thank you!!

Wonderfull books
I was gifted the trilogy as a teen and loved it. Recently re-discovered them and they have held up to my nostalgia. Easily my favorite Dragonlance novels.

A good read, but poorly edited.
I'm a long time dragonlance fan, since the eighties. I took the time to read this book because I didn't write recall how it went. While I enjoyed the walk through Krynn again, and seeing the characters from the chronicles in the last stages of their life, there were several editing mistakes that nearly took me out of the story. There were two occasions when the wrong name was used in a sentence, falsely pointing to an event occurring to someone that it could not have happened to, only to resolve itself in the next few sentences. There were a few transitions that could benefit from a space between paragraphs. But the story is still there, intact. A story of great sacrifice and loyalty.

Tetro

Great ending, but a bit of a fragmented story.
I don't think anyone would disagree that the previous volume in this trilogy, Dragons of a Lost Star, left more than a few dangling threads after its gut-wrenching conclusion. And I probably wasn't alone in wondering how Weis and Hickman could tie them all together in the final installment. The book opens moments *before* the last left off, seen this time through the eyes of Palin in the Tower of High Sorcery, but doesn't linger there long before moving off to other territories, exploring what happens with Mirror and Skie, how the Qualinesti cope with their losses, and Mina's inexorable march on Sanction. Successes and failures carry the feeling of being influenced by the unopposed will of the One God, and the heroes of the story always seem to be fighting a losing battle against hopeless odds. Which is, of course, the stuff of heroic fantasy.Unfortunately, the scope of the tale requires more than a trilogy. The story simply seems to lack focus, and jumps about between Palin, the Qualinesti, the Silvanesti, Mina, Silvanoshei, the Great Dragons, Sir Gerard, and so on without lingering on any one of them long enough for the reader to really _care_ about any of them. Crises of faith that could be explored in depth are solved almost immediately after having arisen, monumental battles dissolve in a single chapter, and the feelings of the characters involved seem like a distant concern. Instead of feeling their emotion at their triumphs and failures, the reader is left feeling like nothing more than an observer passively wondering how the heroes will get out of this one rather than fearing for them. This aside, there's no escaping the grandeur of the tale being being told. Weis' and Hickmans' style remains fluid and graceful, and they've certainly lost none of their flair for bringing on the shocks. The final chapters of the book are absolutely amazing, bringing the story to a neat, complete end but leaving much to be explored later. All in all, this is an excellent, well written piece of work, but with a breadth of material that should have covered a trilogy of its own.
