Unsportsmanlike Conduct: A Pearls Before Swine Collection (Volume 19)

Me like the crocs, so me de-sided to rite this review in Croc-ese, the lingo spoken by the crocs who live next store to a zeba that they want to eat.This book haz nine munths of commic strips that were in noozpapers in 2011. They all here in consekkativ ordur, and Sunday commics are all een color. This book ees sooper funney. It made me laff loud. So do all the other books in this seerees, but thees one is most recent. Steffin Pastis ees prowd of makeeng comics that offend peepul. In hees intorducshun, heem rite that he get disapoynted when he no get complaynt letters. Heem try to help situashun by drawing most offensive comic he can, and he put it in book introducshun.The crocs in this book want to eat zeba, but heem very uncooperative. The crocs try to trick Zeba by holding beeg drawing of herd of zebas outside Zeba's window, but Larry no can draw too good, so Zeba not get fooled. When no zebas get eaten by crocs for long time, crocs try to shame Zeba Neighba by playing race card. Sumhow it not work. Later Zeba build beeg wall to keep crocs away.Crocs natshrul predators, and most of them not very brite. But them not evil. Now Rat, heem truly evil. But in thees book it get revealed what make Rat evil. Rat locked his conshince in trunk and kept trunk in attic for many years. Pig try to let Rat's conshince out, but Rat not let heem. At one poynt, Rat cummit seeryus crime. But heem not go to jail bekawze he is kartoon karacter. Steffin Pastis not so lucky. Heem take heat for Rat's crime bekawze heem draw the commics.One of funneyest strips in book is on page 38. It has Pig discussing his plans of cosmeteek surgery with Goat in resterant. Pig shout sometheeng loudly to Goat which everyone in resterant hear and misunderstand. Me laff real hard at that one.There is visit by space allyens that look like beer cans. You can guess what happens when Rat meets them. Later, Gard Duck and Pig build space sheep out of kardbord box. Goat think it just silly toy, but then duck and pig go into space. But they forget to bring very important sooply. Me forget what it was.Jeffy from Famly Cirkus make a few visits. Heem act tuff and mean when in Pearls commics. Charlee Brown an' Linus visit also. Dennis Mennis get mad at Steffin Pastis (heem is cartoonist who draw thees book), so heem try to burn Steffin's howse down.Eef you like to laff and are not too eezilly offended, buy thees book. Also buy other "Pearls Beefor Swine" books. They funney too.

You can't say more about Pearls Before Swine that hasn't already been written. Sometimes dark but always greatly amusing, Pastis is the master of the corny pun and his characters oddly remind me of many of my own family members! You can't deny that he is up there with Adams, Breathed and yes, even the great "Sparky" Schultz. Pearls is certainly an adult strip targeted to adults yet you can't deny the universal appeal of Pig, Rat, Goat, Zebra, et al. Long live Pearls - may the Pastis flag wave for a very long time!

If you don't follow the antics of these cartoon characters you are sorely lacking. Both in mind and spirit. I know, I know, no one reads these days-it's old school. Well, I say get your butt back to school and pick up a book , any book. This one will do for starters. Funny, perfect for those of you with a short attention span. And who knows, maybe you'll learn a thing or two or even see life from another perspective(which is a very good thing).

Stephan Pastis continues to deliver comic greatness that makes Pearls Before Swine the most innovative and consistantly funny strip of our time. UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT is a terrific compilation of recent strips showcasing puns, satire, and hilarious situations that only Pearls' cast of characters get involved with. Rat, Pig, Goat, Zebra, the Crocs, Guard Duck, Snuffles the Cat, and other characters' crazy lives make for hours of great reading. Enjoy!

Really that IS all you have to know. First there was Dilbert which had it's great days and it's random, sometimes boring days. Then Dilbert creator Scott Adams promoted Stephan Pastis's new Pearls Before Swine and I was hooked and have never looked back - have bought all of the PBS books and love rereading them, often in the bath which is a good PBS location...

Pastis is brilliant! Endless laughter. He writes about things we all think about, but don't always talk about -- out loud.

I'm a Pearls' fan so I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Pearls Before Swine is the best comic!! The had really good collection. Surely a must for PBS and Stephan's fan :)
